There’s something romantic about crepes. Maybe it’s the delicate texture, the subtle flavors, or just the fact that they feel like something you’d order on vacation. At Crepe Expectations, you get all that and more—without needing a passport or an expensive bill.
This spot blends a casual French café vibe with big flavors and bold personality. It’s colorful, lively, and just upscale enough to make a weekend brunch feel like a little event.
Café Style With a Side of Personality
We visited on a Saturday around noon, and the place was packed with couples, families, and groups of friends. After a short wait in line, we placed our order at the café-style counter—a setup we appreciated since there’s no need to flag anyone down or wait for the check when you’re ready to go
“I actually like this ordering style sometimes. It’s simple, it moves fast, and you can just sit back and enjoy without watching the clock.”
While we initially sat outside under the patio, the wind nudged us back inside to one of the high barstool tables. From there, we had a perfect view of the large open kitchen behind glass, where crepes were being made in real time—always a good sign when you can see the process up close.
The vibe inside Crepe Expectations is cheerful and just a little chaotic in that energetic brunch kind of way. Purple is the dominant color, covering the walls and branding, but it’s paired with rustic wood accents and framed art that keep things grounded.
Tea Time & Crepes Done Right
Our drinks came out first—a large pot of hot jasmine tea with two cups, perfect for splitting. Simple, but it hit the spot and warmed us up after briefly braving the wind outside.
Not long after, the main stars of the show arrived: the crepes.
Big Lou’s BBQ: A Meaty Masterpiece
I ordered the Big Lou’s BBQ, a savory crepe packed with 16-hour slow-smoked pork butt, homemade citrus BBQ sauce, and jack cheese. It came with a side of Granny Smith apple blue cheese coleslaw.
The meat was tender and juicy, wrapped snugly inside a thick, folded crepe that somehow held everything without falling apart. The sauce was tangy and sweet, just enough to cut through the richness of the pork.
“This was one of the best savory crepes I’ve had. The pork was perfectly smoked and full of flavor, and the crepe itself was surprisingly sturdy for how much they loaded it.”
The slaw was on the tougher side, and the blue cheese in it was a bit intense for my taste, but overall the dish was solid—especially considering the price tag of only $12.
The Perfect Combination: Strawberries & Chocolate
Destony went for a sweet crepe: The Perfect Combination. This one featured fresh strawberries, chocolate drizzle, and whipped cream—a classic, done well.
The crepe was soft and lightly sweetened, letting the fruit and chocolate shine without becoming overly rich. It was folded generously, and every bite had the right amount of filling.
“Simple but delicious. The strawberries were super fresh, and the whipped cream was light and not too sweet—perfect with the chocolate.”
Crepes for Every Mood
Crepe Expectations puts the spotlight right where it should be—on the crepes. The menu is divided into three categories: Savory, Sweet, and Breakfast, each offering its own spin on flavor and comfort.

Drinks, Mimosas & More
Crepe Expectations surprised us with their drink options. In addition to hot teas and coffee, they offer mimosa flights with flavors like pineapple, passion fruit, blood orange, watermelon, cherry, guava, and more.
You’ll also find a full lineup of sodas, fresh-squeezed juices, lemonade, iced tea, cranberry juice—and yes, they even serve wine and beer. It’s a brunch menu built for more than just crepes.
The Owner in Action
One of the most refreshing things about our visit was seeing Lou Remillard, the owner, working the room. He wasn’t just managing from a distance—he was out picking up dishes, delivering food, checking in with tables, and making people feel welcome.
That level of personal involvement really sets the tone for the place. It makes everything feel more down-to-earth, even in the middle of the weekend brunch rush.
“It’s cool when the owner is out there making sure things run smoothly. It gives the whole place a more personal touch.”
A Colorful, Delicious Couples Spot
Crepe Expectations hits that sweet spot for couples—not too fancy, not too loud, and full of food that feels just a little special. Whether you’re into breakfast-style crepes, hearty savory combos, or sweet desserts, there’s something for both of you.
And with drinks that range from fresh juice to floral teas and mimosa flights, it’s easy to linger here for a while, chatting, sipping, and sharing bites across the table.
“We came here for brunch and ended up staying longer than we thought. Between the tea, the crepes, and the whole vibe—it was just a really good time.”
