Looking for a truly cosmic escape from the Las Vegas heat?
Head up to Lee Canyon for Stars on the Summit on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, from 7 PM to 10 PM—a unique stargazing experience held at an elevation of 9,370 feet, where desert heat gives way to crisp, cool mountain air.
A Night Sky Like No Other
In partnership with the Las Vegas Astronomical Society (LVAS), Lee Canyon invites guests to explore the universe from a truly elevated vantage point. This family-friendly evening includes a scenic ride up the Bluebird chairlift to the summit, where LVAS volunteer astronomers will guide guests through an unforgettable journey across the cosmos.
Expect telescopes, astrophotography setups, real-time video displays, and even laser pointers used to highlight stars, constellations, and planetary features.
“At Stars on the Summit, people of all ages can experience the mountain in a new way and develop appreciation for the natural world after dark,” said Johnny DeGeorge, Director of Marketing at Lee Canyon.
Catch the End of the Perseids
This year’s event also offers the chance to see the tail end of the Perseid meteor shower, making for an extra magical night.
“Lee Canyon’s elevation and surrounding ridgelines block a good deal of the city’s light, giving us a respectably dark sky for being so close to Las Vegas,” said Mig Ponce, LVAS President.
