I’ve always loved finding new ways to spend time outdoors with my kids, so when we planned a short trip to The Las Vegas Farm, I knew it would be a day to remember.
Nestled away from the city’s busy streets, this charming farm is like stepping into a peaceful countryside escape. It offers plenty of activities for both children and adults.
A Fun Family Day at The Las Vegas Farm
Take a journey to The Las Vegas Farm for a day of family-friendly fun. Explore the farmers market, which features fresh produce, baked goods, and local honey. Meet adorable farm animals up close, and let the kids enjoy the unique maze experience.
A Landmark Full of History and Heart
Before we dove into the day’s adventures, I took a moment to appreciate the farm’s rich history.
The Las Vegas Farm has been a part of the community since 1961 and has welcomed visitors since 1968. It’s not just a farm—it’s a true Las Vegas landmark.
Over the decades, it has become a family favorite for locals and tourists who want to escape city life and connect with nature.
What makes this place even more special is its partnership with Barn Buddies Rescue, a nonprofit organization established in 2012. Their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide holistic care for abused, neglected, or abandoned farm animals.
It was heartwarming to know that we were also supporting such a meaningful cause by visiting the farm.
Barn Buddies Rescue also works to educate visitors about creating safe habitats and proper care for farm animals, which made our visit even more inspiring.
Greeted with Warmth and a Farm Market Full of Goodies
As soon as we arrived, the friendly farm owner greeted us and made us feel right at home. The kids immediately spotted baskets of grass for sale to feed the animals, so we grabbed a couple.
But first, we wandered into the on-site farmer’s market—a true highlight of the visit.
The market was filled with local treasures. I was drawn to the colorful displays of fresh produce and vegetables, all grown with care. There were jars of golden local honey, perfect for drizzling over pancakes or stirring into tea, and baked goods like soft, buttery cookies and cakes that tempted us to take some home. It was like stumbling upon a little slice of country heaven right here in Las Vegas.
The Heart of the Farm: Animals Everywhere
Once we finished our stroll through the market, we stepped through a gate leading us to the farm’s heart—the animals.
The petting area was exciting as families fed and interacted with the animals. My kids couldn’t wait to get up close and personal with the farm’s friendly residents.
Chickens were pecking about, a group of curious goats, adorable pigs lounging in the sun, and even ponies and horses. The highlight for us was meeting Billy, the Famous Cow, who stood proudly as if he knew he was the star of the show.
As we passed an enormous bull and stopped to watch turtles plodding along their path, the kids squealed with delight at every turn. My youngest loved feeding the goats, giggling as they eagerly nibbled the grass from his hand.
A Moment to Breathe and Enjoy the Farm Feel
In the center of the market, there’s a cozy sitting area complete with a fire pit. It was the perfect spot to pause, take a deep breath, and soak in the simple beauty of the farm. The fresh air, the gentle sounds of animals, and the calm atmosphere reminded me how refreshing it is to slow down and enjoy the little things.
Adventure Awaits: The Kids’ Favorite Maze
For my kids, no trip to The Farm is complete without going through the farm maze.
It’s a fun little attraction where kids can wander through pathways surrounded by colorful murals, all while trying to find their way out.
It was not their first time tackling the maze, but the excitement on their faces told me it might as well have been.
They dashed inside, leading the way, while I happily followed.
Sweet Farewell with Local Honey
The honey offered at The Las Vegas Farm is variously colored, depending on the season and the flowers the bees have visited.
From light golden hues to rich amber shades, each jar tells a story of the time of year it was harvested. The taste is just as unique—some jars have a subtle, floral sweetness, while others boast a deeper, more robust flavor.
It felt like the perfect souvenir to bring a little bit of the farm home.
As we loaded the car, the kids were already asking when we could return. Their faces lit up from the day’s adventures.
A Rural Experience In The Heart of North Las Vegas

Whether it’s feeding friendly goats, exploring the farmer’s market, or tackling the maze, there’s something magical about this little oasis.
We drove away with full hearts, happy kids, and the promise to return soon for more fresh air, animal hugs, and, of course, more honey.
