When you’re craving BBQ but still want a place that works for a casual date, SoulBelly BBQ Las Vegas brings Central Texas-inspired barbecue to the Arts District. From its laid-back patio and nearby breweries to brisket, pork belly, ribs, cocktails, and quick service, it turns a BBQ run into an easy afternoon or night out on Main Street.
Outdoor Patio and Arts District Vibes
SoulBelly’s patio is one of its biggest draws. The Main Street setting puts you right in the middle of the Arts District, where BBQ, breweries, bars, galleries, and restaurants make it easy to turn lunch into a longer neighborhood outing. If craft beer is part of the plan, Nevada Brew Works is another nearby Arts District stop worth knowing.
We dropped by around 1 PM on a warm afternoon and chose to sit outside. The vibe was relaxed and quiet, with couples and small groups posted up at tables, cold drinks in hand. Inside, the stage was set for live music, even though no one played during our visit. SoulBelly continues to promote live entertainment as part of the Main Street experience.
There’s a big BBQ smoker right up front, so you get hit with that unmistakable smokehouse aroma as soon as you walk up. The open-air setup fits the neighborhood particularly well, where bouncing between food, drinks, and nearby spots is part of the appeal.
If you’re building an Arts District afternoon around drinks and food, 18bin offers another nearby patio-and-cocktail option.
“I ended up going with a Mango Cart since the HUDL line looked a little long, but the setup couldn’t be more convenient.”
Starting Strong with Loaded BBQ Fries
We started with the Loaded BBQ Fries, a mountain of wedge-cut fries topped with cheese, sour cream, spicy BBQ sauce, brisket, tobacco onions, and scallions. It was messy in the best way—gooey, crunchy, savory, and big enough to split.

The brisket chunks were tender, and the BBQ sauce added just enough heat without overpowering everything else. If you’re coming hungry or want something indulgent for the table, this is an easy starter to share.
For another local take on slow-smoked meat, our visit to Big B’s Texas BBQ gives BBQ fans a very different Henderson smokehouse experience.
One Meat Combos with Big Flavor
For our mains, we both went with the One Meat Combo. SoulBelly’s current menu lists it at $18 with a choice of one item from the pit and one side, with brisket available for an additional $2. At the time of our visit, our plates also arrived with bread and housemade bread-and-butter pickles.
I chose the Bourbon Glazed Pork Belly with Mac & Cheese. The pork belly was ultra-soft, with a sweet glaze that caramelized around the edges and practically melted in your mouth. The mac & cheese brought another layer of texture with its pork-parmesan crumb topping.
“The pork belly was insanely soft, and the glaze had just the right touch of sweetness. This is the kind of BBQ that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate it. Destony’s ribs basically fell apart when she picked them up. That’s when you know they’re doing it right.”
Destony got the St. Louis Pork Ribs, which were fall-apart tender during our visit. Like mine, she paired the meat with mac & cheese, and neither of us regretted doubling up on that side.
The combo format works especially well when two people want to order different meats and trade bites. It’s casual, customizable, and gives you a chance to compare more than one part of the pit menu without ordering an enormous platter.
What’s Currently on the Pit Menu
SoulBelly’s current pit lineup includes:
- Texas brisket
- Pulled pork with Carolina BBQ sauce
- Smoked turkey
- Bourbon-glazed pork belly
- Pork & cheddar hot link
- St. Louis pork ribs
- Smoked portabellas with chimichurri
The brisket is currently listed at $20 per half-pound, while the pork belly is $18 per half-pound. If you want to compare SoulBelly’s Arts District style with another longtime Vegas BBQ favorite, John Mull’s Road Kill Grill takes the experience in a completely different direction.
Cocktails, Beer and What We Drank
SoulBelly has a full drinks program alongside the BBQ. The current menu includes draft and canned beer, wine, whiskey, tequila, mezcal, mocktails, and cocktails, although specific drinks can change over time.
During our visit, Destony ordered the Strawberry G&T, made at the time with strawberry gin, elderflower tonic, freeze-dried strawberries, and pink peppercorn. The color was as appealing as the flavor—crisp and floral with a little bite.

I kept it simple with a Mango Cart, which worked well with everything from the fries to the pork belly.
“Destony’s Strawberry G&T looked like summer in a glass—bright, colorful, and playful. The flavor had layers: fruity and floral at first, then a soft peppery finish from the pink peppercorns.”
If cocktails are more important than barbecue on your next Downtown night, Atomic Liquors offers another very different local drinking experience farther into Downtown.
Desserts and Sunday Brunch
We were full by the end, but SoulBelly’s current dessert menu still includes banana pudding, Oreo cheesecake, and Blue Bunny ice cream cups. The banana pudding is made in-house with Nilla Wafers, fresh bananas, bourbon whipped cream, and pecan pralines.
SoulBelly also currently serves Sunday brunch from 11 AM to 3 PM, with dishes such as biscuits and gravy, brisket hash, Monte Brisko, and ham and eggs.
Quick Service and an Easy Date Spot
What really stood out during our visit—besides the food—was how fast and friendly the service was. Even as the patio started filling up, our food came out quickly and every interaction felt easy and low-key.
The Arts District backdrop adds another reason to make a stop here. Main Street is packed with art, breweries, restaurants, and interesting storefronts, so SoulBelly fits naturally into a longer neighborhood day. Esther’s Kitchen is another Main Street restaurant nearby, although the handmade pasta-and-sourdough experience is about as different from a BBQ tray as you can get.
“SoulBelly is kind of perfect for a casual date—good food, good drinks, and a space where you don’t feel rushed. Just sit, relax, and enjoy.”
SoulBelly BBQ in the Las Vegas Arts District
If you’re looking for BBQ in Las Vegas’ Arts District that works just as easily for a casual date as it does for friends or a group, SoulBelly brings together smoked meats, cocktails, outdoor seating, and live entertainment without turning dinner into a formal production.
Come for the Loaded BBQ Fries, pork belly, ribs, or brisket, then decide whether the rest of Main Street gets the next stop. That’s part of what makes SoulBelly work: it feels less like a destination isolated from its surroundings and more like part of the wider Arts District experience.
