Brunch at Marché Bacchus – A Parisian Escape by the Lake

This past Saturday, we set out for a day full of stories, and our first stop was a late brunch at a magical place hidden inside the Desert Shores community — Marché Bacchus.

It’s one of those restaurants that feels more like a getaway than a meal, and after just a few minutes, you understand why it’s become one of our favorite spots for brunch dates and weekend escapes.

The restaurant has gone through a few changes since my last visit, including a beautiful full bar as you walk in.

The moment you enter, you’re surrounded by shelves of wine bottles, soft light, and the hum of conversation.

It feels sophisticated but never stiff — a relaxed, European elegance that makes you instantly want to stay awhile.

A Lakeside Escape in the Desert

Located in the heart of Desert Shores, Marché Bacchus is just two doors down from Americana. From the front, you might not expect much — it’s tucked inside a quiet retail plaza with a small sign and a modest entry.

But as soon as you walk through the doors, the atmosphere shifts completely.

Beyond the wine shop and bar lies one of the most beautiful patios in Las Vegas, overlooking Lake Jacqueline. The view feels more like a postcard from Southern California than something you’d find in the desert.

Swans glide across the lake, trees reflect in the water, and the air feels calm and easy. It’s romantic, it’s peaceful, and it’s exactly the kind of setting that makes a simple brunch feel like a mini-vacation.

Authentic French Dining by the Water

The menu at Marché Bacchus blends classic French and Mediterranean cuisine with modern Las Vegas flair.

From the first sip of wine to the final bite, every dish is intentional — refined but approachable, and perfectly suited for lakeside dining.

Brunch Favorites That Impress

Beef Carpaccio

We started our meal with Beef Carpaccio — thinly sliced beef topped with pepperoncino, horseradish, arugula, capers, and shaved parmesan.

It was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. The sharpness of the horseradish met the richness of the beef, and every bite felt delicate yet bold — a dish that immediately sets the tone for what’s to come.

Truffled Goat Cheese Napoleon

The next dish stole the show — the Truffled Goat Cheese Napoleon. Layers of crispy phyllo pastry stacked with creamy goat cheese, pistachios, and honey, all topped with arugula and frisée.

It’s a masterpiece of texture and flavor: sweet, savory, nutty, and aromatic. Easily one of the most unforgettable bites of the day, and one we’d return for alone.

Seasonal Seared Foie Gras

Then came something rare on brunch menus — Seasonal Seared Foie Gras. Served with seasonal clafoutis, this dish was luxurious and indulgent in the best possible way.

The foie gras was seared to perfection — crisp on the outside, buttery and delicate within — and the sweetness of the fruit paired beautifully with its rich flavor. It’s not a dish you see often, and at Marché Bacchus, it’s executed flawlessly.

The Wine Cellar & Live Music

Inside, the Marché Bacchus Wine Cellar adds another layer of charm. It’s a beautifully curated shop filled with French, Mediterranean, and global wines — many of which you can enjoy right at your table.

Whether you’re searching for a bold Bordeaux, a crisp Rosé, or a rare vintage, the selection is exceptional. It’s the kind of place where you can grab a bottle to go or let the staff recommend a perfect pairing for your meal.

On Sundays, dinner comes with a little extra magic — live music by Aleksandar Damchevski, whose soft guitar and soulful voice fill the patio with warmth.

Between the lake, the breeze, and the music, time seems to move slower here. You can sit back, sip your wine, and forget you’re just minutes away from the bustle of the city.

Romantic Dining, Refined and Relaxed

What truly makes Marché Bacchus special is its atmosphere. It’s romantic without being overdone, elegant yet unpretentious.

Couples linger over mimosas, friends share bottles of wine, and nobody’s in a rush to leave.

The staff strikes the perfect balance — professional, warm, and genuinely happy to help you enjoy your time.

As we dined, the team began preparing the second patio for an event — white linens, flowers, and glasses catching the sunlight.

Watching it all come together, it’s easy to see why Marché Bacchus is a favorite for weddings, anniversaries, and private celebrations. Every corner feels designed for connection and celebration.

A Taste of Paris in the Desert

For those looking to escape the ordinary, Marché Bacchus offers a rare experience. It’s a place where you can sip Pinot Noir by the lake, share truffled goat cheese, and feel like you’ve stepped into a scene somewhere in the south of France.

There’s beauty in its simplicity — no flashing lights, no showmanship — just exceptional food, great wine, and a view that never gets old.

Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, this French bistro by the water reminds us that sometimes, the best moments in Las Vegas happen far away from the Strip — in quiet corners like this, where the wine flows, the music plays, and the world feels a little slower.

If you haven’t been yet, make a reservation for brunch, sit lakeside, and let Marché Bacchus remind you that romance is still alive and well — right here in the desert.
