South of the Strip, the desert flattens and the landscape stretches wide. That’s where Speed Vegas lives. With no high-rises or heavy traffic in sight, the racetrack feels like its own world. The facility looks sleek, modern, and built for action.
From supercars to off-road beasts, every corner of Speed Vegas offers something unique. The thrill kicks in long before your tires hit the track.
Supercars, Screaming Engines, and a Closed Track
Speed Vegas sits right off the I-15, tucked against the backdrop of the Mojave Desert. It’s designed for people who love cars, want to push limits, or just crave something different for the day. This premier experience allows you to rent a sports car and drive it on the private track.
The main track is 1.3 miles of engineered curves, straightaways, hairpins, and banked turns—all built to show off what these exotic machines can really do.
You don’t need to be a pro driver to get behind the wheel, but you’ll get treated like one. From an Audi R8 to a Lamborghini Huracán STO, the selection is limitless.
The intro package isn’t cheap, but it’s not out of reach either. For a high-performance experience, the pricing feels reasonable. My girlfriend surprised me with a driving experience for my birthday that included 5-full laps on track with a car of my choice.
What stood out most to me wasn’t just the cars, but how the entire day is paced and personal.
Learning the Ropes, Then Letting Loose
Once you check in, you’re greeted with a wristband and a flash drive to record your drive. That part is optional, but hard to pass up. Before driving, there’s a short classroom session with a pro driver explaining how to handle the car and track.
It’s quick, informative, and just enough to make you feel ready. Then come the discovery laps.
You ride in a Porsche Cayenne with an instructor who warms you up on the course. The first lap is calm, the second one is full throttle to get the full race mode experience. By the end, your adrenaline’s already up.
It ends with a photo and video option if you want to keep the memory. From there, it only gets more intense.
From here, you wait to be called for your turn in your chosen supercar. It’s real seat time, not a glorified joyride.
The instructor rides with you, giving tips and feedback. You push the car harder each lap. It doesn’t feel rushed, and every instruction builds your confidence.
Safety is the number one priority at Speed Vegas. All sports cars are equipped with a passenger pedal brake system so that instructor gives you full control of the wheel while maintaining safety.
A Driver’s Guide To Speed Vegas
One thing that I can say is you need to make a decision between driving the car of your dreams or driving to push your limits.
I chose the Ford Shelby GT500, and wow! It’s on heck of a machine that was too much for me, personally.
I was able to test the car for what it was built for rather than pushing my own driving limits. The Ford Shelby GT500 features a supercharged v8 engine that pushes well over 700 horsepower. Surprisingly, this is the second fastest car that Speed Vegas offers.
That said, I don’t regret my decision, but I do wish to choose car that fits my driving style to be able to push my skills to maximum capacity.
If driving a supercar isn’t your cup of tea, Speed Vegas offers other amazing activities that are just as full-throttle immersive experiences.
The Drifting Ride Along For Controlled Chaos
Even if you don’t drive, you can feel the action. I was lucky enough to experience jumping into a Dodge Charger Hellcat for a drifting ride-along. That’s all in thanks to my best friend Daniel, who booked this experience as a birthday gift.
The entire drift experience is loud, smoky, and completely out of control—but only on the surface. The driver knows exactly what he’s doing.
Corners come fast, the tires scream, and the rear end swings like a wrecking ball through the turns as if it’s a chasing car in Formula Drift. It’s the kind of ride that’s hard to explain and impossible to forget. They also offer this ride in other cars, and you can choose to ride shotgun while the pros work their magic.
It’s a rush, but the control makes it even more impressive. After all that noise and smoke, don’t be surprised to find there’s even more off the pavement.
Hit the Dirt and Catch Air in a Baja Truck
There’s a separate off-road course at Speed Vegas. It’s not a kiddie course, but the real deal. You can either drive or ride in a legit Baja race truck that takes jumps and blasts over rough terrain like it was made for it.
The Baja Truck jumps feel like roller coasters that slide through dirt corners like butter! The whole thing offers guests a rally race experience rather than a desert trail ride.
The power under the hood hits differently off-road, and the jumps are higher than expected.
Small Wheels, Big Thrills: Go-Kart Racing for All Levels
Not everything at Speed Vegas has to be a supercar or off-road beast. The go-kart course at Speed Vegas brings the same energy, just scaled down. The karts aren’t the electric ones you find at indoor spots on the Strip. These are high-performance SodiKart RT10 gas-powered machines built for real competition.
The track is tight, technical, and built just for these karts. There are even organized races if you’re feeling competitive. I did a few laps and got hooked quickly. The steering is responsive, and the speed feels real.
You can race friends or just chase your best lap. It’s fun, quick, and perfect if you’re not up for the big-ticket experiences but still want in on the action.
Everyone Gets a Custom Experience at Speed Vegas
What I liked most was how Speed Vegas lets you shape your day. Want to drift in a Hellcat? Done. Drive a Ferrari at your own pace? Easy.
You can buy a gift certificate for someone to pick their own ride. There are private track day experiences and even group packages for events.
Whether you’re showing up solo or with ten friends, the staff makes sure it feels personal. You can go hard on the track or keep it chill with a go-kart session. Either way, you walk away with something real.
Take Home More Than Just the Memory
Before you head out, there’s one last stop worth making—the Speed Vegas gift shop. It’s tucked near the track exit, and it’s easy to miss if you’re still buzzing from the drive.
Inside, you’ll find shelves lined with branded gear, everything from soft cotton shirts to slick racing-inspired hoodies. The shop also has a solid selection of coffee mugs, sunglasses, and accessories that carry the Speed Vegas logo.
These aren’t over-the-top souvenirs; they’re well-designed, easy to wear, and make great gifts for anyone who loves fast cars. After the engines quiet down and the day winds to a close, it’s nice to walk away with something tangible in hand.
Put The Pedal To The Metal
Speed Vegas is a top-tier driving experience that’s not cheap, but it doesn’t feel overpriced either. For what you get—cars, instruction, and adrenaline—it hits a sweet spot.
If you’ve ever wanted to floor a Ferrari, ride sideways in a Hellcat, or jump a dirt track, this is your place. And it’s all just a short drive from the Strip.
