Lovelady Brewing Company Taproom doesn’t try to overwhelm you when you walk in, and that ends up being exactly why it works. It sits in a clean retail strip, but inside, it opens up into a space that feels relaxed, open, and easy to spend time in.

The design leans simple but intentional. Warm yellow walls, wood bar tops, polished concrete floors, and that bold Lovelady logo stamped across the room give it personality without forcing anything. It’s not trying to be trendy or overdesigned.

There’s a long bar that runs through the space, smaller tables along the windows, and enough room to spread out without feeling packed in. Whether you come in solo or with a group, it adapts without you having to think about it.

Pulling Up Solo for the Game

I stopped by Lovelady Brewing Company Taproom on my own to catch a Montreal Canadiens playoff game, which is usually the kind of situation where a place either clicks right away or it doesn’t.

Here, it clicked.

The TVs are positioned well, easy to see without needing to hunt for a spot. The sound is present but not overpowering. You can follow the game without it taking over the entire room.

It’s balanced.

And more importantly, it doesn’t feel weird being there by yourself. That’s something a lot of places miss.

“I came in solo just trying to catch the game, and it didn’t feel awkward at all. It actually felt like the kind of place that’s built for that, where you can just sit, have a beer, and relax without needing a whole group.”

I picked #3 Love Juice, #6 Love Struck, #8 Mr. Hoptastic, and #5 Love Triangle, just to cover different styles without overthinking it.

#3 Love Juice was smooth and hazy, easy to drink right away. #6 Love Struck had more bite with that West Coast IPA feel. #8 Mr. Hoptastic pushed things further with a stronger, hoppier profile, while #5 Love Triangle balanced everything out with something a little more mellow and easygoing.

Each one felt distinct, but still approachable.

A Small Moment That Stuck

Right in the middle of working through the flight, something small happened that ended up standing out.

The guy behind the bar brought over a sample of #9 Paleo without me asking, just mentioning it was to clear the palate between beers.

No pitch, no pressure, just sharing something they thought was worth tasting.

“He slid me a #9 Paleo just to try, didn’t charge for it or make a thing out of it. Just said it was to clear the palate between beers. It was one of those simple gestures that makes the whole experience feel more personal.”

#9 Paleo leaned darker, with that chocolate and coffee edge that hits right away. Not something I would’ve picked first, but definitely one of those beers you’re glad you tried.

That interaction alone changes how the place feels.

Locking In the Pint

After running through the flight and the extra sample, #5 Love Triangle was the easy choice for a full pint.

“#5 Love Triangle just made sense as a full pint. It’s not trying to do too much, it just drinks well, which is exactly what you want when you’re sitting there for a while.”

It sits right in that middle space. Smooth, balanced, and easy to stick with while watching the game. The kind of beer that doesn’t distract, it just fits the moment.

That’s really the theme across the board here.

You’ve got everything from lighter pours like Golden Nites and 9th Island Pineapple Sour, to heavier options like Paleo and Wee Thump. Then there are the more playful ones like Love Pickle and Porn Star that keep things interesting.

It doesn’t feel curated for hype. It feels real.

And that makes it easier to just explore without overthinking every choice.

One of the things that stands out once you’ve been there for a bit is how the space encourages you to stay.

There are board games off to the side, not hidden or tucked away. They’re clearly meant to be used.
