“What makes Brian Head one of my personal favorites is how close it is—just a few hours’ drive from Las Vegas—and yet it delivers so much in return. The combination of great snow, a variety of runs, and the overall experience makes it well worth the trip.”

Whether you’re an experienced rider or a beginner looking to try something new, Brian Head Resort provides a diverse experience that guarantees an unforgettable winter getaway.

Brian Head Resort is the ultimate escape for snowboarders, offering a variety of terrains that cater to riders of all levels. The resort boasts over 650 acres of skiable terrain and a vertical drop of 1,500 feet, with a great mix of slopes for beginners, intermediates, and advanced boarders.

Situated near iconic destinations like Bryce Canyon, Brian Head is part of an unforgettable Southern Utah adventure.

There’s something special about the wide-open runs at Brian Head Resort. Whether you’re flying down Blackfoot or tackling the more challenging Navajo runs, there’s a perfect spot for everyone.

The Brian Head and Navajo Mountains: A Playground for Snowboarders

Brian Head Resort covers two mountains: Brian Head and Navajo. The resort’s varied terrain is ideal for everyone, from beginners to seasoned experts. Beginners can enjoy gentle, wide runs perfect for learning how to carve, while more advanced riders can dive into the steep, challenging trails that drop through trees and natural features.

On Navajo Mountain, you’ll find even more thrilling terrain. The runs here are perfect for intermediate riders, with plenty of open areas and tight turns that provide a fun, varied experience. Whether you’re looking to push your skills or just want to relax and enjoy the snow, the Navajo side offers a wide range of options.

“One of my favorite experiences at Brian Head Mountain is slicing through the trees, darting between the gaps, and dodging natural obstacles that keep you on edge. The rush of weaving through the trees is both exhilarating and intense, with each turn demanding quick reflexes. The soft powder beneath your board adds to the challenge, offering a smooth yet unpredictable ride that keeps you constantly on your toes.”

Snowmobile Tours: Explore the Mountains from a Different Angle

If you’re looking to step off the slopes and experience the surrounding wilderness, Brian Head Resort offers snowmobile tours. These guided adventures take you through snow-covered forests, valleys, and pristine backcountry terrain.

Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned snowmobiler, the guides will show you the best routes and provide tips for making the most of your ride. The tours are a great way to explore the resort’s surroundings and take in stunning winter views from a new perspective.

Tubing: Fun for the Whole Family

One of the most exciting activities at Brian Head Resort is tubing. Located on Navajo Mountain, the resort features one of the largest tubing hills I’ve ever seen. It’s perfect for families or anyone looking for a break from the slopes. The hill has multiple runs, so you can race down and feel the rush of adrenaline without needing to strap into skis or a snowboard. It’s a great way to have fun and relax with family or friends after a few hours of snowboarding.

“After hours of snowboarding, tubing was the perfect way to unwind with my family. The thrill of racing down the hill gave us all a rush of adrenaline, and we had a blast competing with each other to see who could go the fastest.”

Skiing, Snowboarding, and Family Fun

Brian Head Resort isn’t just for snowboarders—it’s also perfect for skiers, like my sister, who joined us on our trip. She’s still learning, so we decided to sign her up for a few lessons. Brian Head offers excellent ski school programs with instructors who are patient and skilled, making it the ideal spot to learn. Watching her glide down the beginner slopes by the end of the day was a testament to how effective the lessons were!

“By the end of the day, my sister was skiing down the slopes with so much confidence. It was amazing to see how quickly she picked it up with the right instruction. Brian Head truly makes learning to ski enjoyable and accessible for all ages.”

Giant Steps Ski Lodge and Amenities for Every Need

When you’re taking a break from hitting the slopes, head to the Giant Steps Ski Lodge. Located near the main lift area, it’s the perfect place to relax and refuel. The lodge has everything you need to unwind, including a cozy lounge area with stunning views of the mountain, along with a café offering warm drinks and snacks.

If you’re looking for gear or clothing, the Giant Steps Pro Shop has you covered. It’s fully stocked with the latest in ski and snowboard equipment, apparel, and accessories, so you can grab what you need before heading back out to the slopes.

The rental options are also fantastic. Whether you need to rent snowboard gear or skiing equipment, Brian Head offers a wide range of rental packages for all ages and skill levels. This makes it easy for anyone who doesn’t own gear to enjoy their time at the resort without worrying about hauling equipment from home.

Dining Options: Last Chair Grill and Brews

After a long day on the mountain, one of the best ways to unwind is to grab a bite to eat at the Last Chair Grill and Brews. Located on the Navajo side of the resort, this spot serves up delicious meals and refreshing drinks with a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.

From filling mountain classics like burgers and chili to lighter, more refreshing options, there’s something for every appetite. Pair your meal with a local craft beer, and you’ve got the perfect après-ski experience.

Unmatched Snowboarding Conditions

The snowboarding experience at Brian Head is incredible, but what makes it even better is the snow quality. Known for its light, powdery snow, the resort gets over 360 inches of fresh snowfall each year, earning its reputation as one of Utah’s best spots for riders.

“During our trip in mid-January, we arrived on one of the coldest days the resort had seen in six years, with temperatures dipping to a chilling -3°F. The conditions were a bit mixed.”

While the deep powder was still present in some areas, especially on the higher runs, we encountered a few icy spots that added a bit of challenge to our rides. The softer, powdery sections felt amazing, providing that perfect “float” on your board, while the icy patches kept us on our toes.

The slopes of Brian Head Ski Resort
The slopes of Brian Head Ski Resort stretch as far as the eye can see, offering endless runs and breathtaking views for every rider.

Even days after the storm, we were able to find some untouched lines, particularly when we ventured off the main trails and into the trees. It was a unique experience, but the varied snow conditions kept things interesting, and it didn’t take away from the thrill of the adventure.

The Ultimate Winter Escape at Brian Head Resort

Whether you’re seeking intense adventure or a laid-back winter getaway, Brian Head Resort has everything to offer. From the expansive terrain across two mountains to the variety of activities like snowmobiling and tubing, there’s something for everyone.
