Grand Park in Summerlin West is shaping up to be one of the area’s most exciting new outdoor spaces. Once fully completed, this park will span approximately 90 acres in Grand Park Village, giving local families a large, thoughtfully designed place to play, gather, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors.

We stopped by Grand Park this week with my kids, and they absolutely loved it. The park feels modern, spacious, and beautifully designed, with plenty to keep families entertained.

Even though this is only the first phase of the project, there is already so much to enjoy, from the playgrounds and climbing structures to the sports courts and shaded picnic areas. At 21 acres, Council Park already feels like a major community space where families can easily spend a few hours relaxing and having fun together.

A New Park for Summerlin West Families

Grand Park was designed with both active and relaxed recreation in mind. Whether you are visiting with kids, meeting friends for a game of pickleball, getting in a workout, or simply enjoying a walk, the park offers something for people of many different ages and interests.

As the remaining phases of the planning process continue, Grand Park is expected to grow into a major outdoor gathering place for Summerlin West. Future sections will add even more opportunities for recreation, connection, and community events.

What You’ll Find at Council Park

The first phase already includes several impressive amenities. Families can enjoy a playground, a climbing play structure, and a seasonal splash pad, making it a great spot for kids, especially during warmer months.

Sports lovers will find plenty to enjoy as well. Council Park features three lighted baseball fields, a concession building, six lighted pickleball courts, and a full-sized, lighted basketball court with four hoops.

There are also shaded picnic areas with grills, adult exercise stations, community restrooms, and walking areas, making the park convenient for longer visits.

Trails, Shade, and Outdoor Space

One of the highlights of Grand Park’s design is the planned network of winding trails. These trails will weave throughout the park, connecting different activity zones, shaded rest areas, and open spaces.

This thoughtful layout reflects Summerlin’s focus on creating parks that feel both beautiful and functional. Visitors will be able to move easily from sports areas to picnic spaces, playgrounds, splash pad areas, and quieter sections of the park.

A Great Spot for Sports and Play

With pickleball, basketball, and baseball already included in the first phase, Grand Park is a strong addition for local families and athletes. The lighted courts and fields make it easier to enjoy the park later in the day, especially during warmer seasons when evenings are more comfortable.

The pickleball courts are another fun addition to Grand Park, especially with how popular the sport has become around Las Vegas. Whether you are playing a quick match with friends or introducing the kids to something new, the lighted courts make it easy to enjoy a little friendly competition while spending time outdoors.

The full-sized basketball court is a great spot for kids, teens, and adults to jump into a quick game or shoot some hoops with friends. Since the court is fully lit, it also makes a fun place to hang out and stay active during the cooler evening hours.

Easy to Spend the Whole Afternoon Here

One thing we really liked about Grand Park is how easy it is to spend a few hours here without feeling crowded or rushed. There are plenty of shaded areas to relax, walking paths throughout the park, open spaces for kids to run around, and multiple activity areas that keep everyone entertained.

The park is also open into the evening, which is perfect during the warmer Las Vegas months, when families prefer to be outside later in the day. As more phases are completed, Grand Park will only become an even bigger destination for Summerlin West families.

Why Families Will Love Grand Park

Grand Park has the kind of variety that makes it easy to spend a full afternoon outside. Kids can play on the playground, cool off at the seasonal splash pad, or enjoy the climbing structure, while adults can walk the trails, use the exercise stations, or relax in the shaded picnic areas.

The addition of grills, restrooms, sports courts, and open gathering spaces makes the park especially convenient for family outings, weekend visits, and casual meetups with friends.

A Park Still Growing

While Council Park is already open, Grand Park is only in its first phase. The remaining two phases are still in the planning stage, with more details expected as plans are finalized.

Once complete, the full 90-acre park will become a major destination for Summerlin West, bringing together sports, play, walking trails, shaded rest areas, and community-focused outdoor spaces.
