Ooza Palooza in Town Square: Slime, Smiles & Scents Galore

Recently, I had the chance to visit a place that’s now earned a special spot in both my and my nephew’s hearts, and that place is Ooza Palooza, located in the Town Square. It’s not every day you come across a spot where kids can unleash their creativity, get their hands a little messy, and walk away with something they made themselves. When I heard about this place, I knew I had to visit it with my family.

Slime Time Adventures Begin!

The concept at Ooza Palooza is simple but brilliant: create your own custom slime from scratch. What’s different about this place isn’t the wide range of add-ons available to personalize your slime, but the way the kids experience is guided.

As soon as we walked in, my nephew’s eyes lit up. The space was bright and welcoming, with shelves lined with glitter, beads, charms, and colors that made it feel like a magical laboratory designed just for kids.

There was excitement in the air, the kind that bubbles up when a child is about to dive into something totally new and hands-on.

We were also warmly greeted by our host, a friendly and energetic staff member who made us feel comfortable right away. Each group gets its own personal slime-making guide who walks you through every step of the process. As someone who’s not exactly a slime expert, I appreciated this more than I expected.

The Basics Behind Building Your Own Slime

Our host began by asking my nephew to choose the base for his slime. There were several textures to choose from—glossy, fluffy, crunchy, butter, cloud—each offering a different tactile experience.

He opted for a classic glossy base, and I decided to go for the same.

Colors and Scents Galore

Next came the fun part: color and scent selection. The options were seemingly endless. You could go as bold or as subtle as you liked. My nephew chose a bold blue and added a scent they liked called “jellyfish”, while I went for a light pink with a soothing peach aroma.

Watching him get so excited about mixing colors and seeing the slime come together was a reminder of how magical simple creativity can be.

Add-Ons, Add-Ons, Add-Ons!

Then we got to explore the wall of add-ons, and let me tell you—it’s a slime lover’s dream. There were glitter jars in every shade imaginable, tiny foam beads, shimmering flakes, glow-in-the-dark powders, miniature charms, fake sprinkles, and even little rubber ducks.

My nephew couldn’t decide at first, overwhelmed (in the best way) by all the choices. With a little help from our host, he ended up with rainbow glitter, some star confetti, and a few cat paws and little duck charms. I wanted to keep it simple and went with black glitter for mine.

The process of customizing and mixing everything together was incredibly satisfying. It gave us a chance to bond, laugh and just be present in the moment!

One of the most thoughtful touches about the experience is how kid-friendly and interactive everything is. The hosts don’t just guide—they engage. Our host asked questions, offered suggestions, and even told a few fun facts about slime as we mixed.

She even showed us how to make a slime bubble! The whole environment is clearly designed to make children feel like little scientists or artists in their own right. For parents, guardians, or cool aunts/uncles like myself, it’s a great way to participate in something fun without needing to have any prior experience.

The session lasted around 30 to 45 minutes, which felt like the perfect amount of time—not too short, and not so long that kids lose interest. Once we finished creating our masterpieces, we got to name them and take them home in little sealed containers.

My nephew named his “Blue Bubble Explosion” and immediately started poking and stretching it with joy. I could tell he felt proud of what he made, and I loved that he got to walk away with something that wasn’t store-bought, but crafted by his own imagination.

What impressed me the most about Ooza Palooza is how it merges entertainment with creativity and learning. Kids don’t just have fun—they get to express themselves, experiment with textures and colors, and make choices that reflect their personality.

It’s a fantastic way to create independence, problem-solving and artistic expression in a playful and low-pressure setting!

Mess-Free Magic For All

Another big win? It’s clean. As someone who initially thought “slime = mess,” I was surprised by how organized and tidy the space was.

Everything had its place, and the hosts were on top of helping kids handle sticky fingers or accidental spills. It felt like a place where children were encouraged to explore without chaos.

In addition to mess-free slime experiences, Ooza Palooza also hosts birthday parties and private events, which are a huge hit for kids.

A Day to Remember on Repeat

By the time we left, my nephew was already asking when we could come back. It was the kind of experience that stays with you—not because it was elaborate or expensive, but because it was fun, interactive and meaningful.

I loved seeing his face light up at every step of the process, and it reminded me how important it is to carve out time for experiences like this.
