During my weekly foodie mission, I decided to pop into the Henderson location to give their deep dish pizza a try.

From the moment you step inside Amore Taste of Chicago, you’re swept away from the Nevada desert and transported straight to the heart of the Windy City.

The restaurant’s atmosphere captures the spirit of Michigan Avenue—Chicago’s most iconic street, known for its historic architecture, upscale shopping, and lively energy.

The atmosphere is thick with Chicago pride, but never feels overwhelming. In one corner, you might find a tribute to the band Chicago, while in another, you might spot nods to famous figures like Al Capone.

The walls are also a colorful, lively patchwork of memorabilia that pays tribute to Chicago’s legendary sports teams, including the Cubs, White Sox, Bears, and Blackhawks.

Even the furniture feels true to form, with Chicago-patched tables that look like they belong in a cozy neighborhood pizzeria tucked away in Chicago’s South Side.

This scenery sets up for a memorable meal that you’ll enjoy.

If dining inside the restaurant, give it some time since it takes anywhere between 30-45 minutes to bake this pie. If ordering take-out, then order ahead of time to get your meal in a timely manner.

But Amore doesn’t stop at deep dish. They also proudly serve tavern-style pizza, another Chicago treasure that’s equally worth the trip. Tavern-style pizza features an ultra-thin, crispy crust that’s cut into bite-sized squares—a style affectionately known as “party cut.”

I’ve been to Amore plenty of times and the tavern-style pizza is my favorite! Since it’s very minimal pizza, all the ingredients pack more of a punch. Not sure why, it just does!
