Sometimes the places we end up loving most aren’t a brand-new discovery across town—they’re the neighborhood favorites sitting right around the corner, waiting for the right nudge to finally visit.
This past Saturday morning, my daughter gave me that nudge when she asked if we could go to a place she really loves.
I’m usually the one chasing unique, off-the-beaten-path spots around the valley, but this time the answer was easy. A couple of stoplights from home later, we walked into Honey Salt in Summerlin for brunch.

A Local Favorite with a Purpose
Honey Salt opened in 2012 as a way for Elizabeth Blau and Chef Kim Canteenwalla to create something of their own—right in their own backyard.
The restaurant’s market-inspired approach draws from travel, childhood memories, and countless meals shared with friends and family, and it all comes through in a menu that feels both familiar and thoughtfully elevated.
They’re devoted to the community, with a strong emphasis on using quality ingredients from local and regional farmers, fishermen, and growers.

Their chef-driven seasonal menus are built around staple favorites, then refreshed with creative dishes that evolve throughout the year.
Whether you lean toward classic comfort food, lighter wellness-focused fare, vegan options, or decadent brunch plates, the focus stays the same: everything is sourced, prepared, and served with care.
The People Behind Honey Salt
Elizabeth Blau is widely credited with helping transform Las Vegas into the culinary destination it is today.
Through Blau + Associates, she has developed restaurant concepts and portfolios for iconic properties around the world, including major Las Vegas resorts.
She has also appeared as a judge on CNBC’s Restaurant Startup, and she and Chef Kim co-authored Honey Salt: A Culinary Scrapbook, recognized by Food & Beverage Magazine as Best Cookbook of 2018.
Chef Kim Canteenwalla brings decades of global culinary leadership, with experience spanning Singapore, Thailand, Dubai, Bali, Toronto, and Montreal.

He’s also served as former Executive Chef for MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and continues to operate multiple food and beverage concepts in both Las Vegas and Vancouver.
One of the things I always appreciate about Honey Salt is its location. It sits in the same plaza as Snooze and North Italia, two other well-loved spots that we actually love.
It’s the kind of plaza where you can bounce between great food, good coffee, and a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere without ever feeling rushed.
Seeing all three places busy at the same time says a lot about the energy in this part of Summerlin—and why it continues to be a go-to area for locals.
The Brunch Rush Starts Early
We arrived right as Honey Salt opened at 10 a.m., and the dining room started filling almost immediately.
By the time we wrapped up our meal, there were already people waiting outside for tables—a sign that this isn’t just a popular restaurant, it’s a local success story.

From the moment we sat down, the service stood out. Our waiter approached with recommendations, and every interaction felt friendly, attentive, and genuine.
Great food matters, but when a restaurant pairs it with notable service, it elevates the whole experience—and Honey Salt absolutely hits that mark.
Brunch Over Breakfast (And It Works)
One thing I didn’t realize until we sat down: Honey Salt doesn’t really serve traditional breakfast. It leans hard into brunch—something I’ve been noticing more and more around the city lately—and they do it well.
They even offer their “Bottomless Therapy” mimosas on the brunch menu, which probably explains why weekend mornings bring in so many groups.
I was dining with my kids, so I had to pass on that particular special, but it’s easy to see why it’s a signature draw.
What We Ordered
Honey Salt Benedict
The Honey Salt Benedict is served with poached eggs, spinach, tomato, hollandaise, and Wolferman’s English muffin. My daughter asked for a more plain version (she has her moments), so the plate we received wasn’t exactly how it’s traditionally served—but even simplified, it delivered the kind of comforting brunch satisfaction you want from a classic.

Churro Waffles
Our oldest ordered the Churro Waffles topped with cinnamon sugar, dulce de leche, red berry sauce, and whipped cream. It’s sweet, indulgent, and the kind of brunch plate that makes everyone at the table sneak a bite, even if they swear they won’t.

Breakfast Poutine
I debated between the B.E.L.T.—thick-cut steak bacon, soft scrambled eggs, arugula, tomato, parmesan, lemon aioli, sourdough toast—and the Breakfast Poutine. Our waiter suggested the poutine, and I’m glad I listened.
Served in a pot, the dish comes loaded with roasted Yukon potatoes, smoky bacon gravy, cheese curds, and a fried egg.

It took me a minute to fully understand what was happening visually, but once I dug in, it all clicked. Rich, savory, and comfort-packed, it’s the kind of dish that feels like a reward—and honestly, it taught me something new. Learn something new every day.
Vibe, Seating, and Why We’ll Be Back
The overall experience was exactly what you want from a neighborhood favorite: warm energy, consistently good food, and service that makes you feel welcome.

Honey Salt offers indoor dining, bar seating, and an outdoor patio—perfect for those weeks when the Vegas weather cooperates.
When a restaurant nails the combination of good food, good vibe, and good service, you want to spread the word. Honey Salt in Summerlin deserves it.
And next time? We’re coming back to explore the lunch menu.
