(09/29/2026 UPDATE – PERMANENTLY CLOSED)

La Neta Cocina y Lounge permanently closed its Downtown Summerlin restaurant on September 29, 2026, after approximately five years in business.

The restaurant at 1770 Festival Plaza Drive was known for modern Mexican cuisine, an extensive tequila program, creative cocktails, weekend brunch, and a separate lounge experience.

The following article has been preserved as a record of our visits to La Neta. The menu, Happy Hour, brunch, Taco Tuesday, hours, reservations, pricing, and other operational details reflect the restaurant during its time in business and no longer apply.

Downtown Summerlin has no shortage of places to eat and drink, but during its years in business, La Neta Cocina y Lounge brought together modern Mexican food, creative cocktails, and a stylish lounge atmosphere in a way that felt built for a night out.

Located along Festival Plaza Drive, La Neta combined a full-service restaurant with a separate lounge experience.

Whether guests came for dinner, cocktails, Happy Hour, or weekend brunch, the space offered Summerlin locals several different ways to experience the restaurant.

A Lounge for Eating, Drinking, and Staying a While

On our visit, we opted to sit in the bar area, which had a noticeably different atmosphere from the main restaurant.

The lounge felt relaxed but polished, with music, moody lighting, and plenty of energy.

It worked especially well for cocktails and small plates without feeling overly formal.

The décor was elegant and edgy, with statement artwork, chandeliers, plush seating, stained glass, rich textures, and modern lighting creating an intimate but energetic atmosphere.

The restaurant was designed around two distinct experiences.

One side focused on a more formal dining room, while the lounge featured retractable windows, dramatic design details, cocktails, and a more social setting.

Creative Margaritas and Cocktails

La Neta’s beverage program was a major part of its identity.

During our visit, we started with a Pepino Margarita and a glass of red wine, which fit naturally with the slower pace of sitting in the lounge.

The cocktail menu leaned heavily into tequila and margaritas.

Drinks included creations such as the Picante Mango, made with mango purée and jalapeño, and El Pepino, which combined cucumber with ginger liqueur.

La Neta also carried a substantial selection of tequila, along with beer, wine, sparkling selections, and specialty cocktails.

Appetizers Worth Sharing

When we sat down, we were greeted with a complimentary serving of chips and salsa.

The salsa had a smoky flavor with enough heat to make it interesting without overwhelming the meal.

Shrimp Ceviche was one of our favorites, combining shrimp with avocado, jalapeño, and lime.

Guacamole La Neta delivered the creamy, shareable start we were looking for alongside the chips already on the table.

Another standout during our visit was the TRUFF Quesadilla.

We ordered ours with chicken tinga, pickled onions, and TRUFF aioli.

The menu also allowed guests to add different proteins, including steak and lobster, depending on the dish and menu version at the time.

Modern Mexican Food Beyond Tacos

La Neta’s menu went considerably further than a basic taco-and-margarita concept.

It included specialty tacos, enchiladas, seafood, fajitas, steaks, ceviche, salads, and other modern Mexican dishes.

One of the more distinctive entrées was the Seafood Chile Relleno, filled with lobster, shrimp, and cheese and finished with chile ranchero.

Pozole Verde combined pork, hominy, chicharrones, cabbage, tortilla strips, cilantro, and lime.

For something lighter, the Watermelon Salad mixed watermelon with Manchego cheese, jicama, watermelon radish, chile-lime vinaigrette, and Tajín.

If you want to compare La Neta’s modern approach with a more traditional Mexican experience, Casa Don Juan and Pancho’s are two other Summerlin-area options to explore.

Happy Hour Became Part of the La Neta Routine

Happy Hour was one of La Neta’s recurring draws.

Before the restaurant closed, La Neta promoted a daily Happy Hour from 3 PM to 6 PM along with an additional late-night Happy Hour.

Select food and cocktails were offered at reduced prices, giving the lounge a steady after-work and late-evening crowd.

Those hours, prices, and promotions are historical and no longer apply.

Taco & Tequila Tuesday

Tuesdays also became one of La Neta’s promotional nights.

The restaurant’s final Taco & Tequila Tuesday menu advertised street tacos, discounted margaritas, and Casamigos shots beginning in the afternoon.

Those recurring promotions helped position La Neta as more than a special-occasion dining room.

The restaurant could shift between a full dinner experience, Happy Hour destination, nightlife-oriented lounge, and casual taco stop depending on the time and day.

Weekend Brunch Changed the Atmosphere

La Neta also developed a weekend brunch service.

During its final period of operation, brunch ran on Saturdays and Sundays and included Mexican-inspired brunch dishes alongside mimosas, margaritas, spritzes, and bottomless beverage promotions.

The daytime experience felt noticeably different from the evening lounge.

That ability to transition from brunch to dinner to late-night drinks was one of the defining characteristics of La Neta.

A Restaurant and Lounge Built for Downtown Summerlin

What stood out most during our visits was how easily La Neta moved between different identities.

Someone could sit down for a full Mexican dinner, share appetizers over cocktails, stop in after work, meet friends for weekend brunch, or make the restaurant one part of a larger night in Downtown Summerlin.

The combination of modern Mexican food, creative margaritas, dramatic décor, and an energetic lounge made it distinctive without requiring a trip toward the Strip.

The location also helped.

Being directly in Downtown Summerlin placed La Neta within walking distance of other restaurants, bars, shops, Las Vegas Ballpark, and the larger Summerlin entertainment district.

Remembering La Neta Cocina y Lounge

La Neta Cocina y Lounge spent roughly five years building an identity around bold interiors, Mexican-inspired dishes, tequila, cocktails, brunch, and nightlife.

Its dining room and lounge gave guests two different experiences inside the same restaurant.

The menu could move from ceviche and guacamole to seafood, steaks, tacos, and more elaborate entrées, while the cocktail program remained an equally important part of the concept.

For us, the lounge was what stood out most.

The darker setting, cocktails, shared appetizers, stained glass, and music made the experience feel less like a conventional suburban restaurant and more like somewhere designed for guests to stay for a while.

La Neta Cocina y Lounge permanently closed its Downtown Summerlin location on September 29, 2026.

The closure was sudden, particularly because the restaurant had continued actively promoting brunch, Happy Hour, Taco Tuesday, and dinner shortly before shutting its doors.

Although La Neta is no longer part of the Downtown Summerlin dining scene, this article remains as a record of the restaurant, its modern Mexican menu, cocktail program, dramatic interiors, and the lounge atmosphere it brought to Festival Plaza Drive for approximately five years.
