Novella Italian Kitchen is one of those places that feels comfortable the moment you walk in. It’s a smaller, more intimate spot, which makes it ideal for a relaxed lunch, a casual dinner, or even a quick meal when you’re craving something fresh and satisfying.
Instead of being overly flashy, Novella keeps things simple and focused.
The atmosphere is easygoing, the space feels personal, and the experience is all about enjoying good food without any fuss. It’s the kind of place you can drop into without planning too much—and still leave impressed.

We stopped by for lunch, and it turned out to be a great choice for a laid-back midday meal.
A Fresh Start with the Caprese
To begin, we ordered the Caprese, a classic Italian starter that really highlights the quality of the ingredients. It’s made with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, oregano, virgin olive oil, and a balsamic glaze.

Right away, you can taste how fresh everything is. The tomatoes are bright and flavorful, the mozzarella is soft and creamy, and the drizzle of balsamic adds just the right amount of sweetness to balance it all out.
It’s a simple dish, but when it’s done right, it sets the tone for the rest of the meal—and this one definitely did.
Creamy Pesto Rigatoni Done Right
For the main course, we tried the Pesto Rigatoni, and it quickly became one of the highlights of the visit. You can choose between a traditional pesto or a creamy pesto sauce—we went with the creamy option.

The sauce was rich, smooth, and full of flavor without feeling too heavy. It coated the rigatoni perfectly, giving each bite a satisfying balance of creaminess and herb-forward pesto taste.
It’s the kind of pasta dish that feels comforting but still well-executed, making it a great go-to if you’re in the mood for something classic with a little extra depth.
Tortellini Alla Rosa with Grilled Chicken
We also ordered the Tortellini Alla Rosa, which offered a slightly different flavor profile while still keeping that comforting Italian feel. The tortellini is stuffed with ricotta and tossed in a creamy sauce made with basil, parmesan, garlic, tomato, and cream.
The sauce has a nice balance—creamy with a hint of tomato acidity that keeps it from feeling too rich. It’s flavorful without being overwhelming, and the pasta itself is soft and well-cooked.
We added grilled chicken, which came served on skewers. This was a nice touch, both visually and in terms of flavor. The chicken was tender, well-seasoned, and tasted fresh, pairing really well with the sauce and adding a bit of extra protein to round out the dish.
Plenty of Options Beyond Pasta
While the pasta dishes stood out, the menu at Novella Italian Kitchen offers a wide variety of options, making it a versatile spot no matter what you’re in the mood for.
You’ll find:
Fresh salads and house-made soups
Artisan-style pizzas
Grilled seafood dishes
Desserts to finish your meal
A full bar menu with wine, beer, and cocktails

This variety makes it easy to come back and try something different each time. Whether you’re looking for a lighter meal or something more filling, there’s a good range of choices without the menu feeling overwhelming.
Easy, Friendly Service
Another highlight of the visit was the service. It was friendly, quick, and straightforward—perfect for a casual dining experience.

The food came out without long waits, and everything felt smooth from start to finish. It’s the kind of service that doesn’t try too hard but still makes you feel taken care of, which fits perfectly with the restaurant’s overall vibe.
