North Tower Park: A Summerlin Park That Has it All

Children's playground at North Tower Park with slides, climbing structures, and shade coverings.

There are some parks in Las Vegas where you show up for thirty minutes and leave. Then there are parks like North Tower Park, where suddenly it is two hours later, your kids are covered in sand, somebody is asking for snacks again, and you are already planning your next visit.

Tucked inside The Vistas Village in Summerlin West, North Tower Park is one of those peaceful neighborhood parks that somehow feels calm while still being full of families. It is almost 7 acres, but the layout makes it feel cozy and easy to keep an eye on your kids without constantly sprinting from one side of the park to the other.

This park is simple in the best way. It has shady playgrounds, open grassy space, swings that actually have enough room for multiple kids, picnic areas, and one feature my kids immediately lost their minds over: a giant sandbox.

Honestly, any Vegas parent knows a sandbox is basically free entertainment for an entire morning.

A Summerlin Park That Feels Relaxing

The first thing you notice when pulling into North Tower Park is how clean and open everything feels. There is plenty of parking, which already makes it a win because nobody wants to circle a parking lot with cranky kids in the backseat. Plus, there is a ton of shade, which is a huge win for Vegas summers.

North Tower Park is a family-friendly neighborhood park located in The Vistas Village of Summerlin West.

The park has wide grassy areas surrounded by trees, and the play places are all shaded. It feels very Summerlin, with mountain views in the background and a peaceful neighborhood vibe all around.

Even when families are there, it never feels chaotic.

You will see parents pushing strollers along the walking paths, kids racing across the grass, toddlers carrying buckets of sand toys, and families setting up little lunches under the picnic areas.

It feels like one of those parks locals quietly love.

If your kids are into swings, there is no shortage of them at this park, which makes my mama heart happy. Kids waiting on swings is not a fun feeling, especially when you’re the parent of the kid who likes to swing for ages.

The Sandbox Is the Real Main Character

Let us talk about the sandbox because this is the section my kids immediately claimed as their territory.

The sandbox area is large enough that kids are not piled on top of each other, which makes a huge difference. There is something about sand that keeps kids entertained forever. Mine brought trucks, buckets, and shovels, and somehow acted as if they had just arrived at the beach rather than being in the middle of the desert.

North Tower Park offers playgrounds, picnic areas, walking paths, swings, and open green space for local families.

Parents around us seemed to know the routine, too. Almost every family showed up with sand toys ready to go.

The best part is that the sandbox sits near the playground areas, so older siblings can bounce between the two while younger kids happily dig holes for an hour straight.

And yes, expect sand everywhere afterward. In shoes. In snacks. In the car. It is part of the experience now.

It’s important to mention that the sandbox gets very hot during the summer months.

Two Playground Areas Mean Less Chaos

One thing I really appreciated at North Tower Park is that there are two separate playground areas.

This helps so much when you have kids of different ages.

The smaller kid area feels manageable for toddlers and younger children. The structures are lower to the ground and easier for little ones to climb without parents needing mini heart attacks every five seconds.

Kids enjoy the colorful and shaded playground equipment at North Tower Park in Summerlin.

Then there is another playground area for bigger kids with more climbing and movement. Both playgrounds are shaded, too, which honestly matters so much in Las Vegas.

The shade structures help keep the equipment cooler and make it easier for families to stay longer, even during warmer days.

The playgrounds themselves are colorful and modern without feeling overwhelming. There are slides, climbing pieces, bridges, and interactive sections where kids can move around safely while still feeling adventurous.

The Swing Situation Deserves an Award

Can we talk about swings for a second?

Every parent knows the drama. Somehow, every park has only two swings, and suddenly six children are emotionally invested in the exact same one.

North Tower Park actually thought this through.

There are multiple swings, which means less waiting, less arguing, and fewer awkward negotiations between toddlers who definitely are not ready to share yet.

There are standard swings and toddler bucket swings, too, so younger kids can safely join the fun.

Honestly, this alone makes the park feel parent-approved.

Plenty of Space to Run Around

Beyond the playgrounds, North Tower Park has beautiful open grassy areas where kids can just run.

And sometimes that is all they really need.

We brought a soccer ball and somehow ended up spending nearly an hour kicking it around while the kids rolled down hills and chased each other in circles. It is one of those parks where simple things feel fun again.

The grass areas are also great if you want to bring:

  • A picnic blanket
  • A football
  • Bubbles
  • Scooters
  • Snacks
  • Birthday party decorations, because yes, this park definitely has birthday party energy too

There are picnic and barbecue areas scattered around the park, making it easy for families to settle in for a longer visit.

Shade Everywhere, Which Vegas Parents Appreciate Immediately

One thing that really stands out at North Tower Park is how much shade there is.

The playground areas are covered. The picnic spaces have shade. Trees are planted throughout the park. Even sitting on a bench feels more comfortable because you are not melting in direct sunlight.

For Vegas families, this changes everything.

It means you can actually stay longer without feeling like you are slowly turning into a raisin.

Clean Bathrooms and Easy Layout

Another parent wins: community restrooms.

Not every park has them, and if you have kids, you already know how important this becomes exactly twenty minutes after arriving.

The park layout is also really easy to navigate. Nothing feels too spread out, so you can keep track of multiple kids without constantly moving locations.

You can sit near the middle and still see most of the action, which makes the whole visit feel more relaxing.

A Great Spot for Evening Park Visits

One thing I love about Summerlin parks is how family-friendly they feel in the evenings, and North Tower Park is no different.

The park stays open daily until 10:30 PM, which makes it perfect during hotter months when families wait until later in the day to head outside.

There is something really peaceful about being there around sunset. Kids are still playing as the mountains start to glow in the background, and parents sit around chatting while everyone enjoys the cooler weather.

It feels like classic Vegas family life in the best way.

Final Thoughts From a Vegas Mom

North Tower Park is not flashy or over the top. That is actually what makes it so good.

It is clean, safe, shaded, relaxing, and designed to work really well for families. The sandbox alone makes it worth visiting, but the multiple playgrounds, swings, picnic areas, and open grassy space turn it into the kind of park you end up returning to over and over again.

And best of all, it is one of those simple family outings that feels special without costing much at all.

So pack the sand toys, grab some snacks, and let the kids run wild for a few hours. Just be prepared to leave with sandy shoes and very tired kids. Honestly, that is usually the sign of a successful park day anyway.
