Red Rock Canyon Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K returns to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area on January 23rd, 2027 with three race distances on one of the Las Vegas Valley’s most recognizable desert routes. The marathon starts at 6:45 AM, followed by the half marathon at 7:30 AM and the 5K at 8:15 AM.
Organized by Calico Racing, the event takes runners onto the paved Scenic Drive through Red Rock Canyon, with sandstone formations, desert vegetation and major elevation changes forming the backdrop for the race.
Choose the Marathon, Half Marathon or 5K
Runners can register for the full marathon, half marathon or 5K. Each distance includes a technical race shirt, finisher medal, post-race food, aid stations, onsite EMS support and eligibility for overall and age-group awards.
The marathon has a seven-hour cutoff, with the course officially closing at 1:45 PM.
Run the Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive
The marathon begins near the exit of the Scenic Drive at approximately 3,800 feet in elevation. Runners climb toward the Summit Overlook, which reaches approximately 4,771 feet, before continuing through a mix of downhill, flat and rolling sections.

Aid Stations Throughout the Course
Aid stations are positioned throughout all three race distances. Water and Gatorade are available at every station, while select Ultra Aid Stations also provide energy gel and electrolyte tablets.
Portable toilets are available approximately every three miles along the longer courses.
Race Morning Transportation
There is no participant or spectator event parking inside Red Rock Canyon. Runners and spectators must use the race shuttle system or arrange to be dropped off at the appropriate starting area.
The primary free shuttle location is West Career and Technical Academy. Buses begin departing at 5:45 AM and rotate throughout the morning based on each race distance.
An optional paid Strip shuttle is also available from Horseshoe Las Vegas. The round-trip Strip bus costs $35 per person and requires advance purchase.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup takes place on race morning at each start line. Marathon and 5K runners pick up packets near the Scenic Drive exit, while half marathon runners receive their packets at the Visitor Center.
Runners using the shuttle are dropped near their respective start locations, making packet pickup part of the race-morning arrival process.
Registration Pricing
Current standard registration is $55 for the 5K, $120 for the Half Marathon and $140 for the Marathon. Prices increase after December 13th, with late registration available through January 21st at noon if capacity remains.
On-site registration may also be offered at a higher cash-only rate if space is still available.
