There are plenty of reasons to make the drive to Boulder City, but Beer Zombies gives craft beer fans one more. Sitting at 567 Nevada Way in the middle of historic downtown, the Boulder City draft room combines the brand’s horror-inspired personality with something considerably more relaxed: cold beer, cocktails, outdoor seating, and a spot where you can slow down for a while before continuing through town.
This is not the brewery where Beer Zombies makes its beer. The brewing happens at the company’s Bonanza Road brewery in Las Vegas. Boulder City is a family-friendly draft room and beer garden, pouring Beer Zombies releases alongside cocktails and packaged cans to go.
That distinction actually fits Boulder City well. You get the personality of Beer Zombies without needing to turn the stop into an entire brewery outing. And because so many of the places we have covered sit within the same compact downtown area, it is easy to make Beer Zombies one stop in a much bigger day exploring Boulder City.
Beer Zombies Fits Right Into Downtown Boulder City
Beer Zombies has always leaned into the darker side of craft beer culture. Skulls, horror references, bold artwork, and offbeat details are all part of the identity. But the Boulder City location is more approachable than the name might suggest.

The indoor draft room has the brand’s familiar edge, while the outdoor beer garden puts you right into the rhythm of downtown. It is an easy place to grab a table, watch Nevada Way go by, and figure out where the rest of the afternoon is heading.
One of our favorite things about this part of Boulder City is how closely everything connects. Dam Roast House & Browder Bookstore is directly across the street, making it possible to start the morning with coffee and circle back later for a beer.
Big T’s Cantina is also right along this stretch of Nevada Way. Its colorful Baja-inspired setting and Mexican comfort food make it an easy nearby option if you want a full meal before or after Beer Zombies.
What Beer Zombies Is Pouring
The Boulder City taps focus on beer produced by Beer Zombies at its Las Vegas brewery. The lineup changes, but the brewery has established several recurring beers alongside limited releases and collaborations.

Styles can move from hop-forward IPAs to lighter blonde ales, pilsners, stouts, sours, and experimental releases. Some beers stick around longer than others, while limited drops give regulars a reason to check the tap list again on the next visit.
Among Beer Zombies’ current core releases are Zombie Duck Hunter, a West Coast IPA; Boomstick Blonde Ale; Boomstick Blood Orange; and Beer Zombies Brew, a dry-hopped pilsner.
If beer is not what brought everyone in, the Boulder City location also serves cocktails. That makes the draft room more useful for mixed groups where not everyone wants to spend the afternoon comparing IPAs.
Beer to Take Home
You do not have to finish the Beer Zombies experience at the bar. Packaged cans are available to go, so you can check the current selection and bring a few home for later.

That rotating approach is part of what originally made Beer Zombies interesting to us. There is enough consistency to know what kind of brewery you are walking into, but the selection still gives repeat visits some unpredictability.
A Family-Friendly Beer Garden
Despite the horror imagery and skull-heavy branding, the Boulder City location is officially family-friendly and open to all ages. That makes it noticeably different from Beer Zombies’ main Bonanza Road brewery, which is a 21-and-over location.

The beer garden helps make that work. Boulder City is at its best when the weather lets you spend time outside, and this patio gives you somewhere to settle in without disconnecting from the rest of downtown.
Well-behaved dogs are also welcome outside on leash, according to Beer Zombies.
What About Food?
Beer Zombies Boulder City does serve food, but not through a traditional restaurant kitchen. The location lists a permanent food truck on-site, giving guests an option for something to eat without leaving the beer garden.
You are also surrounded by restaurants we have already spent time exploring.
A few blocks away, The Coffee Cup Cafe is one of Boulder City’s longtime breakfast and lunch stops, packed with memorabilia, surfboards, license plates, and the kind of diner personality that fits the town.
For something substantially heavier, Fox Smokehouse BBQ brings brisket, smoked wings, ribs, and a full bar into the mix. It is the kind of meal that can easily become the main event rather than a quick stop.
And if Beer Zombies puts you in the mood to compare local beer experiences, Boulder Dam Brewing Co. is nearby with its own house-brewed beers, pub food, and outdoor beer-garden atmosphere.
Turn the Stop Into a Boulder City Afternoon
This location works particularly well because you do not need to build the entire day around it.
Grab a beer, sit outside for a while, then keep moving through downtown. If horror is already the theme of the day, Tom Devlin’s Monster Museum takes things considerably further with movie monsters, masks, props, costumes, and practical-effects displays.
If the weather is too good to stay indoors, Hemenway Park is a short drive away with Lake Mead views and the desert bighorn sheep that regularly wander down into the park.
That mix is what keeps bringing us back to Boulder City. Coffee, breweries, restaurants, antique shops, parks, museums, and outdoor stops are close enough that a day does not need much planning. Pick a starting point and let the town fill in the rest.
From Beer Community to Boulder City Draft Room
Beer Zombies began in Las Vegas in 2013 as founder Chris Jacobs’ outlet for sharing independent beer, art, and beer culture. The idea grew into collaborations, festivals, and eventually permanent taprooms.
The first Beer Zombies draft room opened on Warm Springs in 2019. Beer Zombies Brewing Co. launched in 2020, and the Boulder City location joined the lineup in 2022.
The next major step came when Beer Zombies acquired the longtime Tenaya Creek brewery on Bonanza Road in late 2023. That facility became Beer Zombies’ permanent brewing home, with production operating there in 2024.
That history makes the Boulder City spot easier to understand. It is not trying to duplicate the full brewery. It is a neighborhood extension of the Beer Zombies brand—one built around taps, cocktails, cans, outdoor seating, and an easy connection to the rest of downtown.
Why Beer Zombies Works in Boulder City
Beer Zombies looks like it should feel louder and more intimidating than it actually does.
The skulls, horror art, and undead branding give it personality, but the Boulder City location is ultimately pretty simple: a casual downtown draft room where you can try Beer Zombies beer, order a cocktail, sit outside, grab something to eat, and stay as long as the afternoon allows.
For us, the location is even more useful because of everything surrounding it. You can walk over after coffee, pair it with lunch, compare it with another Boulder City brewery, or make it the relaxed middle stop between downtown wandering and an afternoon attraction.
And that may be the strongest reason to visit. Beer Zombies does not need to be the entire Boulder City day. It fits naturally into one.
