There are some restaurants you plan for, and then there are the ones that seem to call your name at exactly the right moment. That was the case for us this past Saturday, when a sudden pizza craving sent us straight to our go-to shortlist of local spots we’d been meaning to try. At the top of that mental list was Double Zero Pie & Pub, a place we’d heard about again and again from friends who already knew what the hype was about.
Located in Chinatown, right next door to Mas Por Favor and just a couple of doors down from Shokku Ramen, Double Zero sits in one of the busiest and most flavor-packed stretches of Spring Mountain. But once you step inside, the energy shifts. The restaurant feels far removed from the buzzing street outside, trading the usual Vegas visuals for something moodier, warmer, and far more transportive. It’s the kind of place that changes character as the day goes on, moving effortlessly from casual pizza stop to laid-back bar scene without losing its charm.
From the first few minutes, it was easy to see why so many locals have been talking about it. Double Zero Pie & Pub has that rare ability to feel polished without becoming pretentious, relaxed without feeling forgettable, and creative without losing sight of what people came for in the first place: a really great meal.
A Chinatown Pizza Spot With a Personality of Its Own
As soon as we walked in, the atmosphere made an impression. The interior has a darker, more intimate bar feel, with exposed brick walls, metal chairs, and a design that feels both urban and inviting. It doesn’t lean too hard into being trendy, and that’s exactly what makes it work. Everything feels intentional, from the lighting to the layout, giving the restaurant a cool, lived-in character that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.

There was already a nice rhythm to the room when we arrived. A couple of friends were posted up at the bar, another group had taken over a corner table, and we were greeted and seated right away in the center of the dining room. It was lively without being loud, busy without feeling chaotic. Double Zero somehow manages to create an experience that works whether you’re there for a casual dinner, a date night, drinks with friends, or a full-on food mission.
And because it was the weekend, we did what felt only natural: we started with draft beers.
Starting With the Drinks
A good pizza night deserves a good pour, and Double Zero’s drink menu gives you plenty to work with. There’s a strong lineup of beer and wine, along with cocktails that go beyond the expected. Whether you want something crisp and classic or something with a little more flair, the drink list feels built to match the personality of the food.

We ordered the Double Zero Lager, which is brewed locally, along with a Crafthaus Czech PLZ Pilsner. The lager surprised us right away. It had a more assertive profile than we expected and almost drank like an IPA, with a flavor that stood out in a memorable way. The pilsner, on the other hand, was bright, crisp, and extremely refreshing, making it an easy favorite alongside the meal.

The menu also features specialty cocktails, including their Yuzu Lemon Drop, which sounds like the kind of drink that would be just as fitting during a lively evening at the bar as it would be during a slower dinner with friends. Double Zero understands that a pizza place can still have a serious beverage program, and that extra attention shows.
A Standout Start to the Meal
Before the pizza arrived, we kicked things off with one of the most unexpected and memorable starters we’ve had in a while. We ordered the Wagyu Carpaccio, and from the first plate set down, it was clear this wasn’t meant to be a routine beginning to the meal. It came layered with nori croutons, whisky barrel-aged fish sauce, ponzu, matsutake marinated enoki mushrooms, yuzu kosho aioli, micro cilantro, and micro leeks.

The Appetizer That Set the Tone
Wagyu Carpaccio
Carpaccio is one of those dishes that can either fade into the background or completely steal the moment. This one absolutely stole the moment. Every bite offered a slightly different combination of flavor, texture, and brightness, which made the dish feel dynamic from start to finish. The richness of the wagyu met the acid and depth of the ponzu and fish sauce, while the mushrooms and nori croutons gave the whole thing dimension.

What stood out most was how thoughtfully everything worked together. Nothing felt random or overdone. The yuzu kosho aioli brought a creamy citrus heat, the herbs kept it fresh, and the layered toppings turned each bite into its own little experience. We love when chefs take a classic dish and give it a fresh point of view, but this wasn’t reinvention for the sake of it. This was a genuinely exciting plate that earned every bit of attention it demanded.
It also set the tone perfectly for the rest of the meal. If the starter was this dialed in, expectations for the pizza were already sky-high.
The Pie That Made the Visit Worth It
For the main course, we shared the Burrata E Pesto, and this was the dish that sealed the deal. Listed with Neo-Neapolitan white sauce, fior di latte, dorati tomatoes, basil, pistachio pesto, burrata, parmesan frico, and balsamic glaze, it sounded promising on paper. On the table, it was even better.
A Pizza Worth Talking About
Burrata E Pesto
The first slice made an immediate impression. This was one of those pizzas that stops the conversation for a second. The combination of creamy burrata, vibrant pesto, sweet tomatoes, and that crisp hit of parmesan frico gave the pie richness, brightness, and texture all at once. Every ingredient had a purpose, and every bite felt full without ever becoming too heavy.

The crust held its own beautifully, giving the pizza structure while still delivering that satisfying chew you want from a well-made pie. The white sauce created a smooth base for the other toppings, while the balsamic glaze added just enough contrast to keep the flavors moving. It was indulgent without being overwhelming, and layered without losing its balance.
Honestly, this is the kind of pizza that makes you want to text a friend before you even finish the meal. It’s bold, memorable, and packed with personality. Double Zero doesn’t just serve pizza here; they build pies that feel expressive and complete. That Burrata E Pesto is one of those menu items that lingers in your mind long after the plate is cleared.
Why Double Zero Deserves the Attention
At a time when great pizza is no longer hard to find in Las Vegas, it takes something special to stand apart. Double Zero Pie & Pub manages to do exactly that by delivering more than a good slice. It offers a full experience: strong drinks, inventive starters, a welcoming room, and pizza that feels crafted with both skill and confidence.

It’s no surprise the restaurant earned recognition as one of the 50 Top Pizza spots in the U.S. in both 2024 and 2025. After this visit, that kind of praise makes complete sense. Double Zero has the food to back it up, but it also has something less tangible and just as important: vibe. It feels like a place that knows exactly what it is and leans into it without overcomplicating the experience.
There’s a reason locals keep bringing it up. This is a restaurant that works on multiple levels. It’s a pizza destination, a neighborhood hangout, a date-night option, and a solid answer to the question of where to go when you want a meal that feels a little more exciting than usual. That combination of food, drinks, and atmosphere is what gives Double Zero staying power.

If you’re building out your Las Vegas pizza bucket list, this one deserves a spot on it. Double Zero Pie & Pub delivers the kind of dinner that starts with a craving and ends with a new favorite. And in a neighborhood already packed with standout places to eat, that says a lot.
