This past weekend, we were looking for something heart-warming to match the cold weather outside. One of those meals that doesn’t just fill you up, but actually makes you feel better with every bite.
As one of our longtime go-to spots, Sidestreet Pho & Grill quickly came to mind—and before long, we found ourselves back at a place that has delivered comfort and consistency for years.
There’s something reassuring about returning to an “old-time” favorite when the craving is for something warm, familiar, and satisfying.
Sidestreet has always fit that role for us, making it an easy choice for a cold-weather lunch.

Located on the corner of Desert Inn and Durango, Sidestreet Pho & Grill sits in a busy area that has changed dramatically over the past few years.
What was once a quieter plaza has grown into a food-focused destination, surrounded by restaurants that consistently draw crowds.
The restaurant shares the plaza with The Spot LV, sits just a block away from Zaytoon, and now welcomes new neighbors like Those Guys Pies and Lazeez.
With this caliber of restaurants nearby, expectations are high—but Sidestreet continues to stand its ground by doing what it does best: serving honest, flavorful food without overcomplicating the experience.

The Atmosphere and Experience
Walking inside, the space immediately feels comfortable and familiar. The interior leans into a Vietnamese-inspired aesthetic that reminded me a lot of Hobak Korean BBQ—clean, casual, and welcoming without trying too hard.

The energy is relaxed, making it just as suitable for a quick lunch as it is for a longer sit-down meal. From the moment you’re greeted and seated, the experience feels easy and unforced.
I’m not entirely sure whether Sidestreet is a family-run business, but it certainly feels like one.
Many of the staff members seem closely connected, and that familiarity shows in the service.
Smiles come naturally, questions are answered patiently, and there’s a genuine warmth that carries through the entire visit.

What We Ordered
We may have arrived hungry, but we definitely ordered with our eyes. With the cold weather outside and a menu full of comforting options, narrowing things down wasn’t easy.

Starters and Shared Plates
Fried Pork Dumplings
We started with an order of fried pork dumplings, served hot and crispy with a flavorful filling that made them disappear faster than expected.
They were the perfect way to kick off the meal—simple, satisfying, and done right.

Chicken Bánh Mì Sandwich
Alongside the dumplings, we ordered a chicken bánh mì sandwich to share. This is one of those items you almost have to order.
It’s straightforward, balanced, and packed with flavor, proving that sometimes the simplest dishes leave the biggest impression.

Main Dishes
Garlic Noodles with Beef
The garlic noodles with beef quickly became one of the highlights of the meal.
Rich, aromatic, and deeply savory, the noodles were comforting without feeling heavy.
The beef was tender, and the dish delivered exactly what you want on a cold day.

Chicken Pho
No cold-weather visit to Sidestreet would be complete without a bowl of pho.
The chicken pho arrived steaming, with a soothing broth that instantly warmed you up. Every spoonful did exactly what pho is meant to do—bring comfort, balance, and familiarity.

Why Sidestreet Still Works
Was it a lot of food? Absolutely. Did we slightly overdo it? Probably. But it was completely worth it.
Everything tasted delicious, the staff remained attentive and friendly throughout the meal, and the pacing felt just right.
There was no rushing, no unnecessary delays—just a smooth, enjoyable dining experience from start to finish.

What really stands out is the value. The pricing felt fair, the portions generous, and there were no surprises when the bill arrived.
That balance of quality, comfort, and affordability is something Sidestreet consistently delivers.
In a neighborhood filled with strong dining options, Sidestreet Pho & Grill remains a reliable favorite.
Whether it’s cold outside or you’re simply craving something comforting and familiar, this is a spot that delivers every time.
And yes—we’ll definitely be back for more.
