Recently, I had the chance to visit a place that earned a special spot in both my and my nephew’s hearts: Ooza Palooza at Town Square Las Vegas. It’s not every day you come across a spot where kids can unleash their creativity, get their hands a little messy, and walk away with something they actually made themselves.

When I heard about it, I knew I had to visit with my family. If you’re searching for family-friendly things to do in Las Vegas that are indoors, creative, and easy to fit into an afternoon, this one definitely stands out.

Making Your Own Slime at Ooza Palooza

The concept at Ooza Palooza is simple but brilliant: create and customize your own slime with help from a slime-making instructor.

What makes the experience different isn’t only the selection of colors, scents and add-ons. It’s the way the entire process is guided from beginning to end.

As soon as we walked in, my nephew’s eyes lit up. The studio was bright and welcoming, with shelves of glitter, beads, charms, colors and slime-making supplies that made it feel like a laboratory built specifically for creativity.

There was excitement in the air, the kind that bubbles up when a child is about to dive into something completely new and hands-on.

We were warmly greeted by our host, who made us feel comfortable right away. A slime-making guide walked us through the process step by step. As someone who’s definitely not a slime expert, I appreciated that more than I expected.

Choosing the Slime Base

Our host started by helping my nephew choose the type of slime he wanted to make. During our visit, there were several textures to explore, including glossy, fluffy, crunchy, butter and cloud-style slime, each creating a different tactile experience.

He opted for a classic glossy base, and I decided to go with the same.

Colors and Scents Galore

Next came one of the most fun parts: choosing our colors and scents.

The choices seemed endless. You could make something bold, colorful and packed with personality or keep things more subtle. My nephew chose a bright blue and a scent called “jellyfish,” while I went with a light pink color and peach aroma.

Watching him get excited about mixing the colors and seeing his slime slowly come together was a reminder of how entertaining something as simple as creating with your hands can be.

The Add-On Wall

Then we moved on to the wall of add-ons, and this is where a slime lover could easily spend some time making decisions.

There were glitters in different colors, foam beads, shimmering flakes, charms, decorative pieces and other mix-ins waiting to be added.

My nephew couldn’t decide at first, overwhelmed in the best possible way by all the choices. With a little help from our host, he settled on rainbow glitter, star confetti, cat paws and some tiny duck charms. I decided to keep mine simple with black glitter.

The process of choosing everything and mixing it together was incredibly satisfying. More importantly, it gave us a chance to laugh, talk and just be present together.

A Guided Kids Activity in Las Vegas

One of the most thoughtful parts of Ooza Palooza is how interactive the hosts make the experience. They don’t simply hand you the supplies and walk away.

Our host asked questions, offered suggestions and showed us different ways to work with the slime. She even taught us how to create a slime bubble.

For parents, grandparents, guardians or cool aunts and uncles like myself, it means you can participate without having to know anything about slime beforehand.

OOZAPALOOZA currently lists a minimum crafting age of 5. That is worth knowing before bringing younger children.

Our visit lasted around 30 to 45 minutes from start to finish. The regular crafting experience is currently structured around a 30-minute session, making this an easy activity to combine with other things to do at Town Square.

For example, Dinosaur Outpost is only a short walk away and adds a completely different hands-on experience for kids. Families who prefer games and prizes can also stop at Supa Claw while exploring the shopping center.

Once we finished our creations, we got to name them and take them home in sealed containers.

My nephew named his “Blue Bubble Explosion” and immediately started poking, stretching and playing with it. I could tell he felt proud of what he had created, and I loved that he walked away with something made through his own imagination rather than something simply picked from a shelf.

Creative Fun Without Bringing the Mess Home

Another big win for me was how organized the studio felt. Before visiting, I automatically associated slime with mess.

Inside Ooza Palooza, everything had its place. The hosts helped with sticky fingers, mixing and the occasional spill, giving the kids room to experiment without turning the entire experience into chaos.

Ooza Palooza also offers birthday parties, field trips and private-event experiences in addition to regular studio visits. Town Square notes that the studio may occasionally close for private events, so checking before making a special trip is a good idea.

Turn It Into a Town Square Family Day

One of Ooza Palooza’s biggest advantages is its location. Town Square gives families plenty of ways to extend a short slime-making appointment into a larger outing.

After crafting, you can challenge the family to mini golf at PopStroke, visit another kid-friendly attraction, grab something to eat, or simply spend some time walking around Town Square.

If the kids still have energy afterward, the nearby Pinball Hall of Fame is another interactive option along Las Vegas Boulevard.

You can also browse more things to do around the Paradise area or use the Everyday.Vegas map to build a family outing around nearby activities.

Would We Go Back?

By the time we left, my nephew was already asking when we could come back.

What stood out to me wasn’t that the experience was elaborate. It was that it gave us something genuinely interactive to do together. He made the choices, mixed the ingredients, personalized his creation and left proud of what he had made.
