For those looking to explore more diverse landscapes, Red Rock Canyon also offers dramatic desert scenery.

Interestingly, Wetlands Park wasn’t always the lush haven it is today. The area was an overlooked part of the valley for decades, with natural springs and the Las Vegas Wash quietly flowing through.

Over time, efforts to preserve and restore the wetlands have turned this once-neglected area into the thriving ecosystem we see today, filled with vibrant plant life and wildlife.

As I stepped into the park, I was immediately struck by the open space and peaceful atmosphere. The paths are wide and well-maintained, making it easy for families with strollers or young children to navigate.

Explore Easy Walks & Adventurous Trails for all Ages

Wetlands Park features a variety of trails suitable for all levels of explorers. If you prefer to keep things easy, the park has several shorter loops that allow you to take in the sights without committing to a long trek.

The Nature Preserve, a park highlight, covers only a small portion of Clark County Wetlands Park. The 14-mile Wetlands Loop Trail is a multi-use route for walkers, joggers, cyclists, and leashed dogs. However, it does not currently form a complete loop. The paved section extends from Wetlands Loop Trailhead to Pabco Trailhead, while additional trail connections remain in development.

For a fun twist, we brought scooters during our visit and were able to cover more ground while stopping to enjoy the scenery. Current Clark County rules generally permit e-scooters in county parks unless signs state otherwise, but Wetlands Park restricts wheeled use in sensitive areas. The Nature Preserve trails are intended for foot traffic, while bicycles are limited to designated routes. Visitors should follow posted signs, keep speeds low, and yield to pedestrians and wildlife.
