Rock Rink returns to Downtown Summerlin from November 13, 2026, through January 18, 2027, bringing outdoor ice skating back to The Lawn for the holiday season. The 8,000-square-foot real-ice rink is open to all ages and features themed skate nights, seasonal drinks, holiday entertainment and a festive train circling the rink and Christmas tree.
The rink is presented by Lexus and is one of Downtown Summerlin’s main seasonal attractions. Reservations are encouraged because walk-up availability is limited based on capacity, especially during evenings, weekends and holiday events.
Ice Skating at Downtown Summerlin
Rock Rink is a full-size outdoor real-ice skating experience set in the center of Downtown Summerlin. Skaters can visit throughout the season, with hours varying by day and special programming scheduled on select evenings.
Skate rentals are $22, with discounted pricing available on select dates and times. Midweek specials and themed nights give locals several ways to visit throughout the season without every trip feeling the same.
Families planning to spend more time in the area can also use the Downtown Summerlin restaurant guide to find nearby places for dinner, coffee or dessert before or after skating.
Themed Skate Nights and Special Events
The 2026–27 season includes several themed nights and special activations. Student Skate Nights are scheduled for November 18, December 2, January 6 and January 13. Other events include a country-themed night celebrating NFR on November 21, Frozen Skate Night on December 10, Las Vegas Sports Night on December 16, a Cirque du Soleil night on December 18, Glow Night on January 7 and A Very Swiftie Skate Night on January 14.
Las Vegas Ice Theater will also perform at the rink on November 22 at 6:00 PM and on December 6 and December 20 at 10:45 AM, giving visitors a chance to watch live skating performances in addition to regular public skating.
Holiday Train and Cocoa Near the Rink
The Jupiter Express Holiday Train runs through January 18 and circles the ice rink and Downtown Summerlin’s holiday tree. Rides are $7 per person for both adults and children, making it an easy add-on for families with younger kids who may not want to skate.
Sterling’s Cocoa Trailer is also located near the rink throughout the season, serving holiday drinks and seasonal treats. For a sit-down meal nearby, Finney’s Crafthouse is one of the newer restaurants in Downtown Summerlin, with burgers, American comfort food and patio seating.
Make a Holiday Evening of It
Rock Rink overlaps with several other Downtown Summerlin holiday activities, making it easy to plan more than just a skating session. The Holiday Parade runs on select Friday and Saturday evenings, while the Santa Chalet, Santa’s Mailbox and other seasonal programming take place throughout the district.
Those looking for another nearby holiday attraction can also pair a Summerlin outing with Enchant Christmas at Las Vegas Ballpark, which runs during the holiday season and includes its own large-scale light displays and ice-skating experience.
Is Rock Rink Good for Kids?
Yes. Rock Rink welcomes skaters of all ages and works well for families, teens, couples and groups. Younger children who are not ready to skate can still enjoy the holiday train, seasonal treats and surrounding holiday activities.
Because the rink is outdoors, evening temperatures can feel cold once the sun goes down. Gloves, warm layers and comfortable clothing are helpful, especially for younger skaters spending extended time on the ice.
Reservations and Tickets
Reservations are encouraged for Rock Rink because skating capacity is limited and walk-up tickets may not always be available. Skate rentals are listed at $22, with select discounted pricing offered during the season.
