Casa El Desayuno: A Delicious Breakfast

Casa El Desayuno

Casa El Desayuno in North Las Vegas is not the kind of breakfast spot you visit when you only want a basic plate of eggs and toast. The restaurant combines classic American breakfast favorites with Mexican-inspired dishes, oversized combination plates, specialty pancakes, chilaquiles, breakfast burritos, and sweet crepes.

We stopped by on a busy morning and immediately understood why the dining room was so full. Nearly every table was occupied, servers moved continuously between the dining room and open kitchen, and families were still arriving as we waited near the entrance.

Despite how packed the restaurant looked, our quoted wait was only about 15 to 20 minutes. The line moved faster than expected, and before long we were seated with two enormous menus in front of us.

Casa El Desayuno feels like a neighborhood breakfast restaurant built for serious appetites. The menu is huge, the portions are generous, and the atmosphere stays energetic from the moment you walk inside.

A Busy North Las Vegas Breakfast Spot With Plenty of Variety

The first thing that stood out was the size of the restaurant. Casa El Desayuno has a large, open dining room with high ceilings, plenty of tables, televisions throughout the space, and a clear view into the kitchen and service area.

The bright red, yellow, and orange branding gives the restaurant a cheerful look that matches the food. Photos of pancakes, chilaquiles, crepes, breakfast platters, and Mexican dishes cover parts of the counters and walls, making it difficult to sit down without immediately becoming hungry.

Casa El Desayuno Open Kitchen
Guests can watch the kitchen prepare meals fresh to order from the restaurant’s open cooking area.

Even with a full dining room, the restaurant did not feel disorganized. Employees continued seating guests, bringing drinks, clearing tables, and moving orders out of the kitchen at a steady pace.

The Casa El Desayuno Menu Is Almost Overwhelming

Casa El Desayuno has one of the largest breakfast menus we have encountered in North Las Vegas. The spiral-bound menu includes page after page of breakfast plates, omelets, pancakes, crepes, Mexican dishes, sandwiches, burgers, salads, drinks, and children’s meals.

Casa El Desayuno Mexican Favorites Menu
Traditional Mexican specialties like quesabirria tacos, sopes, caldo, and menudo are available throughout the week.

You can order familiar breakfast combinations with eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, bacon, ham, hash browns, biscuits, or country-fried steak. However, the restaurant becomes much more interesting once you reach the Mexican breakfast section.

That part of the menu includes chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, chorizo con huevo, nopales con huevo, breakfast fajitas, breakfast burritos, chile relleno omelets, quesabirria tacos, menudo, caldo de res, and caldo de camarón.

There are also several extravagant pancake flavors, including:

  • Fresas con Crema
  • Mazapán
  • Gansito
  • Cinnamon Swirl
  • Chocolate Tuxedo
  • Red Velvet
  • Oreo
  • Lechera
  • Nutella
  • Strawberry Banana
  • Very Berry

The selection makes Casa El Desayuno a useful option for groups because someone can order a traditional American breakfast while another person orders chilaquiles, birria, an omelet, or a dessert-style stack of pancakes.

The Crepe Combo Is an Entire Breakfast Feast

I ordered the Crepe Combo, which comes with two eggs, four breakfast meats, hash browns, and two crepes. The available meat choices included bacon, sausage, and ham, and I ordered a combination of all three.

Casa El Desayuno Classic Breakfast Plate
A simple breakfast of scrambled eggs, crispy hash browns, and sausage delivers a comforting start to the day.

I selected scrambled eggs and chose the Strawberry Nutella crepes. Other crepe options listed on the menu included Fresa con Crema, Mazapán, and Strawberry Banana.

When the plate arrived, it was every bit as large as the description suggested. The scrambled eggs covered a generous portion of the plate, while the hash browns had a properly crisped exterior with softer shredded potatoes underneath.

The breakfast meats added plenty of variety. The sausage links were browned and savory, while the bacon and ham made the combination feel more like a breakfast sampler than a single entrée.

Strawberry Nutella Crepes

The crepes arrived on a separate plate, folded and covered with sliced strawberries, Nutella, whipped cream, and powdered sugar.

The crepes themselves were soft and thin, allowing the toppings to provide most of the sweetness. The fresh strawberries helped keep the Nutella from becoming too heavy, while the whipped cream added a lighter texture.

Casa El Desayuno Strawberry Nutella Crepes
Sweet strawberry and Nutella crepes topped with whipped cream make for the perfect way to finish a hearty breakfast.

This is definitely a sweet finish to an already substantial breakfast. Anyone ordering the Crepe Combo should arrive hungry or expect to leave with leftovers.

The Crepe Combo is not simply eggs with a small dessert on the side. It is a full breakfast platter followed by two generously topped crepes.

Destony Ordered the Chilaquiles Tricolor

Destony ordered the Chilaquiles Tricolor, one of the more visually impressive dishes on the menu.

The plate featured tortilla chips divided between red and green sauces, topped with crema and queso fresco. It also came with eggs, steak, avocado, a roasted pepper, and additional toppings arranged across a long wooden serving board.

Casa El Desayuno Chilaquiles Tricolor Plate
The signature Chilaquiles Tricolor combines red and green chilaquiles with steak, eggs, avocado, and authentic Mexican flavors.

The combination of red and green chilaquiles gives the dish more variety than a standard single-sauce order. One side delivers the deeper flavor of red salsa, while the green side has a brighter and slightly tangier profile.

The steak and eggs make the dish considerably more filling, and the avocado adds a creamy contrast to the crisp and softened tortilla pieces. It is the kind of breakfast that combines several different textures and flavors rather than tasting the same from beginning to end.

A Dish Made for Anyone Who Wants More Than Pancakes

The Chilaquiles Tricolor is a good representation of what makes Casa El Desayuno different from a typical chain breakfast restaurant. You can still order pancakes, waffles, eggs, and bacon, but the menu also gives you access to much more substantial Mexican breakfast plates.

For anyone visiting specifically for chilaquiles, the restaurant also offers traditional chilaquiles and a customizable “Casa’s Way” option with additional steak and avocado.

Café de Olla Served With a Concha

We also tried the Café de Olla with a concha. Both were served in hand-painted Casa El Desayuno mugs that added a memorable touch to the presentation.

The coffee had the warm, lightly spiced flavor associated with traditional café de olla, making it a good match for the sweeter bread. The concha arrived balanced on top of its ceramic container, creating one of the most distinctive presentations of the meal.

Casa El Desayuno Cafe de Olla
Traditional Café de Olla served with a fresh concha is one of the restaurant’s most popular breakfast pairings.

It is an easy addition for anyone who wants something more interesting than standard diner coffee, especially when paired with crepes or pancakes.

The Restaurant Stayed Packed Throughout Our Visit

The restaurant remained busy during our entire meal. Large families filled several tables, servers carried oversized plates through the dining room, and more guests continued arriving near the entrance.

Casa El Desayuno clearly attracts a strong local crowd, and the atmosphere reflects that. This is not a silent café built around laptops and quick coffee runs. It feels more like an energetic family breakfast restaurant where people settle in for large meals and conversation.

The open kitchen also contributes to that energy. Guests can see plates being assembled, orders moving through the service window, and staff coordinating throughout the morning.

Is Casa El Desayuno Worth the Wait?

Based on our visit, the wait was manageable. The restaurant looked extremely crowded when we arrived, but we were seated after approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Wait times can always vary depending on the day, especially on weekends, but the restaurant appeared to move tables efficiently. Arriving earlier in the morning may help anyone hoping to avoid the busiest period.

The large dining room also gives Casa El Desayuno more seating than its busy entrance might initially suggest.

What Else Can You Order at Casa El Desayuno?

Although breakfast is clearly the main attraction, the menu extends well beyond pancakes and eggs.

Lunch options include burgers, chicken strips, sandwiches, tortas, salads, carne asada fries, and a Poblano steak sandwich. Mexican specialties include flautas, sopes, quesabirria tacos, soups, carne asada quesadillas, and weekend-only dishes.

The drink menu is equally broad, with aguas frescas, licuados, juice, hot chocolate, café de olla, beer, micheladas, and several mimosa flavors.

That amount of variety means Casa El Desayuno can work for breakfast, brunch, or an early lunch, especially when dining with people who want completely different meals.

Our Overall Experience at Casa El Desayuno

Casa El Desayuno delivers exactly what its massive menu promises: large portions, extensive choices, Mexican breakfast favorites, and an energetic family atmosphere.

The Crepe Combo offered an almost comical amount of food, combining eggs, hash browns, several breakfast meats, and two Strawberry Nutella crepes. The Chilaquiles Tricolor was equally substantial, with steak, eggs, avocado, red and green chilaquiles, and plenty of toppings.

Casa El Desayuno Exterior
Casa El Desayuno’s colorful exterior makes it easy to spot while serving authentic Mexican breakfast and lunch in Las Vegas.

Most importantly, the restaurant handled a very busy dining room better than we expected. The wait was reasonable, the food arrived in generous portions, and the enormous menu gave us several reasons to consider another visit.

Next time, it would be difficult to choose between the Mazapán pancakes, huevos rancheros, a breakfast burrito, or one of the restaurant’s more traditional Mexican dishes.

For anyone looking for a North Las Vegas breakfast restaurant with Mexican flavors and oversized portions, Casa El Desayuno is worth adding to the list.
