If you’re craving authentic Tijuana-style street tacos while visiting The Resort at Summerlin, Tacos 1986 is one of the best quick stops inside the resort’s new food hall.
Originally founded in Los Angeles in 2018, the restaurant has built a loyal following thanks to its handmade corn tortillas, flame-grilled meats, and recipes inspired by the vibrant street food found throughout Tijuana, Mexico.
Whether you’re grabbing lunch, taking a break from the casino, or looking for a casual dinner before exploring the rest of the resort, Tacos 1986 delivers fresh flavors in a fast and convenient setting.
A Taste of Tijuana
Tacos 1986 stays true to its roots by focusing on simple, authentic ingredients prepared the traditional way. Every taco begins with fresh, handmade corn tortillas that provide the perfect foundation for the restaurant’s flavorful meats and toppings.

The menu centers around classic Tijuana-style tacos, including the signature Carne Asada, grilled over an open flame, and the popular Adobada, marinated pork cooked on a traditional trompo. The rotating spit gives the pork its signature texture and flavor, creating one of the restaurant’s most popular menu items.
Guests looking for a vegetarian option can also enjoy the well-known Hongo Mushroom Taco, proving that there is something for everyone on the menu.
Rather than offering an overwhelming number of choices, Tacos 1986 focuses on doing a handful of dishes exceptionally well.
What We Ordered
During our visit, we ordered both the Adobada and the Carne Asada tacos, and both were excellent.
The Adobada was incredibly flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned with just the right balance of spices. The pork had a delicious smoky flavor from the trompo cooking method and paired perfectly with the fresh tortilla.

The Carne Asada was equally impressive. The steak was juicy, nicely charred, and full of bold grilled flavor that didn’t need much more than the fresh toppings to shine.
We also ordered a refreshing horchata, which was creamy, smooth, and lightly sweetened. It was the perfect drink to cool down while enjoying the flavorful tacos.

For guests with a larger appetite, you can order individual tacos or choose a combo meal that includes rice and beans, making it an easy and satisfying lunch or dinner.
Fresh Salsa Makes Every Taco Better
One feature we especially enjoyed was the self-serve salsa bar.
Instead of limiting guests to one or two sauces, Tacos 1986 offers a wide variety of fresh salsas and toppings, allowing you to customize every taco to your taste. Whether you enjoy something mild or prefer adding extra heat, there are several options to choose from.

Being able to build your tacos exactly the way you like them adds another level of authenticity to the experience and keeps every bite fresh and flavorful.
A Great Quick Stop Inside the Resort
One of the biggest advantages of Tacos 1986 is its location inside the new food hall at The Resort at Summerlin.
The restaurant offers counter seating, along with plenty of nearby tables in the shared dining area, making it easy to enjoy a quick meal before heading back to everything else the resort has to offer.
It conveniently offers visitors several excellent dining options in the same area. Whether you’re visiting with friends or family, everyone can find something that fits their tastes.
Because the food is prepared quickly, it’s also a great option for casino guests looking for a quality meal without waiting long.
Fresh, Simple, and Full of Flavor
One thing that stands out about Tacos 1986 is its commitment to quality over quantity. Every taco is made with fresh ingredients, and the focus remains on letting those ingredients speak for themselves.

The handmade tortillas, grilled meats, fresh toppings, and flavorful salsas all come together without feeling overly complicated. It’s a simple menu executed extremely well, which is often what makes authentic street food so memorable.
