This past Friday, on our way back from school, I asked my daughter if she was hungry. The look she gave me said everything before she even answered, and just like that, I was already scrolling through my list of sushi spots we had not tried yet. That quick father-daughter lunch mission is how we found ourselves sitting down for an all-you-can-eat lunch at Sasa Sushi.
Sometimes the best local finds are not the ones with the flashiest storefront or the busiest parking lot. Sometimes they are the places you almost miss, the ones you circle back for, and the ones that quietly surprise you once the first plate hits the table. Sasa Sushi turned out to be one of those spots.
A Fresh Sushi Stop Near Cheyenne And Buffalo
Located near the Cheyenne and Buffalo area, Sasa Sushi is not sitting in what most people would call a prime restaurant location. The parking lot is a little tight, and if you are not looking for it, this is the kind of place you could easily drive past without noticing.

But if you are on the hunt for sushi with deep flavor, fresh ingredients, and a relaxed local feel, it is worth taking another lap around the lot to find a spot. Once we walked inside, the experience immediately felt more inviting than the outside might suggest.
According to Sasa Sushi’s own description, the restaurant is “inspired by traditional flavors” and offers “a fresh, creative, and respectful interpretation of Japanese cuisine.” They serve both all-you-can-eat sushi and à la carte options, all made to order with premium and fresh ingredients.
That made-to-order part matters. With all-you-can-eat sushi, there is always a difference between food that feels rushed and food that still feels prepared with care. At Sasa Sushi, the rolls started arriving quickly, but they still felt fresh, clean, and thoughtfully made.
First Impressions Inside Sasa Sushi
We were greeted by the host as soon as we walked in. Since it was Friday around noon, the restaurant was not busy yet, so we almost had the place to ourselves. That gave us a chance to really take in the space without the lunch rush around us.

The restaurant had a beautiful bar setup, traditional Japanese-inspired decor, and a clean, comfortable dining room. It felt simple, calm, and welcoming, which is exactly what you want when you are settling in for a sushi lunch.
The staff was friendly, the service was fast, and the pace of the meal worked perfectly for a casual lunch. Of course, service could be slower during rush hour, but during our visit, everything moved smoothly from the first order to the last bite.
What We Ordered At Sasa Sushi
For our lunch, we kept things fun and familiar while still trying a few different textures and flavors. We ordered salmon nigiri, masago, a rainbow roll, a deep-fried California roll, Japanese lasagna, and my daughter’s favorite of the day: spicy tuna crispy rice.

Each item brought something different to the table, from clean and simple to rich, crunchy, and layered. That variety is part of what makes all-you-can-eat sushi such a fun experience, especially when you are sharing the meal and comparing favorites as the plates arrive.
Salmon Nigiri And Masago
The salmon nigiri was a great way to start. Simple sushi is always a good test because there is nowhere for the ingredients to hide. The salmon had a clean flavor and soft texture, making it an easy first bite before moving into the heavier rolls.
The masago, or fish eggs, added that small pop of texture and salty ocean flavor that works well between rolls. It was bright, simple, and gave the table a nice traditional touch.

Rainbow Roll
The rainbow roll brought color and variety to the table. With different slices of fish layered over the roll, it had that classic fresh sushi feel that makes it a reliable order almost anywhere.
At Sasa Sushi, it felt balanced and fresh without being overloaded. It was the kind of roll that works well when you want something flavorful but not too heavy.

Deep-Fried California Roll
The deep-fried California roll was the comfort-food moment of the meal. It had the familiar flavor of a California roll, but with that warm, crispy outside that makes each bite a little richer.
This is the type of roll that feels especially good when you are sharing with someone who enjoys texture. It is crunchy, warm, and easy to enjoy, especially between lighter bites of nigiri or fish-forward rolls.

Japanese Lasagna
The Japanese lasagna added a more layered and indulgent dish to the spread. It had that baked-sushi style richness that makes it feel almost like a sushi casserole, with creamy, savory flavor in every bite.
This was one of the heavier items we ordered, but in a good way. It brought depth to the meal and helped round out the lighter and crispier choices on the table.

Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice
The spicy tuna crispy rice was my daughter’s favorite, and honestly, it was easy to understand why. Crispy rice already has that perfect contrast of texture, with a crunchy base and soft topping, and the spicy tuna added just enough kick to keep it interesting.

This dish had the fun factor. It was bold, crisp, and satisfying without being too much. If you are visiting Sasa Sushi for the first time, this is one of those items worth adding to the order.
A Clean, Friendly, And Flavorful Local Sushi Find
What stood out most about Sasa Sushi was the overall balance of the experience. The restaurant was clean, the staff was nice, the food came out fast, and the sushi had enough flavor to make the visit feel worthwhile.
It is not trying to be the loudest or trendiest sushi spot in Las Vegas. Instead, it feels like a solid neighborhood option for anyone in the Cheyenne and Buffalo area looking for a casual Japanese lunch or dinner.
The all-you-can-eat format makes it easy to explore the menu, especially if you are dining with family or someone who likes to try a little bit of everything. For us, it turned a quick school pickup lunch into a small sushi adventure.

Why Sasa Sushi Is Worth A Stop
Sasa Sushi may be easy to miss from the outside, but once you are seated, the experience is much more memorable. The made-to-order rolls, friendly service, and calm dining room all work together to create a lunch that feels relaxed and satisfying.
If you are already near Cheyenne and Buffalo, or if you are building your own list of local sushi spots to try, Sasa Sushi deserves a place on it. Take the extra minute to find parking, walk inside, and let the rolls start rolling.
For our visit, it checked the boxes that matter most: fresh food, clean space, kind staff, quick service, and a few dishes we would happily order again. And most importantly, my daughter left full and happy, which is usually the best review a restaurant can get.
