Mateo Siderman, a UNLV student and emerging motorsport talent, recently took his first major step in professional racing. Competing in the prestigious Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series at Sebring International Raceway, Siderman’s debut marked a pivotal moment in his racing journey.
Siderman’s Sebring Debut: Full of Speed & Silver Linings
Siderman’s debut race at Sebring International Raceway was thrilling, demanding, and bittersweet. Competing alongside teammate Michael Johnson with TR3 Racing, they placed 28th overall.
“Racing at Sebring feels surreal, but I know I didn’t get here alone. I want to thank my family, team, and sponsors for believing in me,” said Siderman. “Balancing college and racing is challenging, but passion makes it worth it. Being on track is where everything makes sense to me – it always has.”
Despite finishing further down the ranks, they managed an impressive best lap time of 2:07.440.
Unfortunately, suspension issues forced an early end to Siderman’s debut run, cutting short what could have been a stronger finish. While the results may not have matched his aspirations, the experience provided valuable insights and highlighted Siderman’s determination.
His perseverance promises stronger performances in future races. Siderman looks to continue building momentum at Laguna Seca in May.
